Was hoping to spend less than $300 on speakers and was hoping to get a 5.1 speaker system.
Let me know your thoughts.
Not sure what you can get for $300, but if you can increase your budget to ~$355, IMO a good way to proceed would be to start with:
- a pair of well-rated Cambridge S30
s ($219, shipped, at Amazon.com); and
- a Dayton Audio SUB-1200
subwoofer ($119 + $15 shipping, at Parts-Express.com).
Then save up for a matching CC speaker and surrounds (or for three new speakers across the front, and use the S30s for surround duty).Edited by eljaycanuck - 5/28/13 at 8:41am
