Does any one know how to trim a multi clip? I hit "A" to trim but instead it played the whole clip.

Don't you use the right and left stick to change the start and end point?

I tried them and gave up on them. The system is not sufficiently responsive to hand gestures while I'm seated the way it's currently set up; I need to get a TV mount for the sensor. No big loss.

That's weird. I haven't messed with the upload studio for a while now.

Interesting news, I wonder how well it will work. This will make anyone that was upset about losing out on their fight sticks and wheels happy if it works right.

Major Nelson posted information about an update starting tonight at 8PM EST:
Quote:
This update addresses the following:
-Addresses SmartGlass issues for some users when coming in and out of connected standby
-Addresses multiplayer issues for some users when re-joining games
-Addresses issues with inconsistent notifications for some users
-Addresses dashboard performance for some users
-Offers improvements for Xbox One’s TV, system update, and content update services for scaling over time
-Updated wireless networking driver to improve connectivity issues for some users

http://majornelson.com/2013/12/10/xbox-one-system-update/

It seems (at least for December) that my earlier hope of the One being updated on Patch Tuesday came true. biggrin.gif

Edit: Here's how the process will work for those of us using "Instant-On"
Quote:
Your console will automatically download the update after you turn it off. Once the update has been downloaded in the background, your console will power completely down. Please note: You will need to manually power your console back on after the update has been downloaded. Because the update will power your console completely down, the “Xbox On” voice command won’t be available until after the update is fully installed.
When you turn the console on you’ll see the update being applied. After that, your Xbox One will reboot. You’ll know the update is installing when you see the Xbox logo on the green background (like at the top of this post.) This can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Once the update has finished installing, you’ll boot to the Home screen and you’re all set.
Don’t worry, if you are out of town for the holidays, you console also does regular checks for updates and will download it in the background even if you have not used you Xbox One in a couple of days.

I want Iron Brigade 2!!!!!!!

Plus while I likethe feel of the controller, I dislike the analog stick resistance. Sure I am used to the 360 controller but the XBOne sticks are to easily moved... i guess is how I describe it.

Why does the patch only work for instant on folks, why can't it DL for everyone. Why is the update so cryptic. I have instant on feature, hard rebooted and....no update. I still have the old oS update>frown.gif

what I LOVE about the new controller is the outer ribbed ridge lining the top of the sticks. that is amazing stuff. I hope they last though. I know the dots on the 360 controller would eventually wear away.

I just "did" the system update! so weird. So I turned on the One with the voice command. Went to the dashboard. Then did the "Xbox off" command. the system shut down. Then about 5 minutes later (didn't actually time it so I have no idea how long it actually took (was doing work on the laptop)), the system started turning on and then it turned off. it didn't actually turn on the rest of the components like the TV so I don't know exactly what happened since the TV was off.

then the "xbox on" command didn't work like major nelson said. then manually turned it on via the controller. then saw the green progress bar. then the logo. then the dashboard.

It doesn't just work for instant on people. It's that there's two update states. Available, and mandatory. Mandatory will happen on Thursday, and it'll be the same way that the 360 works. You turn on the console, and you're forced to immediately get the update. The "available" state though means that it's on their server, and that your Xbox at some point during the night will check for an update, find that it's there, and then start downloading it while you're not using the console, so as to not download it when you're in the middle of gaming.

There's a support page post that explains it far better than Major Nelson did:

Update went with no problems. My kids had turned the Xbone off and when I turned it back on it started the update. I did have to manually turn on the receiver and TV so I can see what was going on since it never did turn those on once I powered on the Xbone. I thought the update went pretty fast. Hopefully this will fix some of the minor HDMI issues I get now and then with my DIrect TV box.
Any ideas on how large the update is? Also, any idea where to check your current OS version? If you have the instant on feature enabled and the update downloads in the middle of the night and installs, will it notify you of what it did when you turn the machine on?

I thought this was kinda cool:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/10/xbox-one-gets-keyboard-ps4-controller-support-with-usb-device

Love this, can use the old xbox 360 controller, PS4 controller, and even keyboard and mouse. Amazing what people can come up with.

Wouldn't something like that reduce the response time of the controller?

I was on last night about an hour after the update went live. I didn't have it, so I just played as normal, then shut the system down (standby). This morning I noticed the light on the brick was orange, so I know I have the update ready for me when I turn it back on. I think I like it this way better then the old way of updating.

I read about the update last night and checked my XBOne but didn't see anything so I played a couple of Peggle 2 games. After I put it into standby I started watching TV. A few minutes later I saw that the XBOne had come on. And when I checked it the update was installing. I've seen no difference in my use when I played some more games after the update. I had hoped that maybe they did something with audio, but the audio output was still borked and not matching the number of source channels.

Not sure, I haven't turned on the system yet today, but someone on Reddit said its ~330MB.

To check your version, go to Settings (in My Apps and Games), then System, then Console Info.

I went back to play some GTA last night and the 360 controller just felt a little off. I guess it's because I've been putting in a bunch of time on my One.

I wouldn't expect you to be. From your gamertag profile, looks like you don't play much other than call of duty and halo.

Sage, it's totally OK to play on a Vista family cruiser. Some of us like sports cars. They are not for everyone.

Anyone else get crazy lag whenever you try and read a message? Really annoying as it basically bricks my machine for about 30 seconds or so. I just use smart glass but feel I shouldn't be forced to.
