Its a hard habit to break.  I have 24 gigs of ram in my PC and I still make sure everything is closed before I launch a game. :p

It doesn't help with performance per se. However, I quit each game or app rather than just go back to dashboard and load the next game/app because of the memory leak problems. I don't know if memory leaks are less after the last few updates (since i started doing this behavior because of the first revision of the OS) so i can't judge whether it's better recently. But the memory leak problems annoyed me when the One first came out.

I noticed it way back when, when I was trying to load Dead Rising 3 but it never finished loading or it would dump me back to the dashboard. It also happened to other games where the game wouldn't load. the only way to fix it was a hard reboot which of course flushed the memory (holding down the power button until the One fully turned off and then turning it back on). I then read that quitting out of the game/app completely solved it and it completely fixed it for me. So I now religiously quit after going back to dash.

maybe it's all been fixed and I'm just doing excessive behavior. But I've never had any problems since with games loading or performance issues so I'm just going to stick to my routine.

I'm really hoping that they reorganize the marketplace on the XB1 soon. I miss categories, since it was easier to find what I was looking for.

After this latest update the kinnect never signs me in anymore unless I manually do it. Seems like MS fixes one thing and messes something else up. The OS still feels lagy also. In so any levels this OS feels like beta and needs work.

I miss the game trailer section. I used to browse trailers for upcoming games every day on 360. Seems like there is nothing on XB1 except for released games.

I had the the identical experience. Quitting seems to have minimized the issue.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong, not every program is going to behave. But there shouldn't be any crossover between the OS and games in that regard...a memory leak in dead rising shouldn't spill over to Netflix.

I also miss that section. It's just another example of them breaking things that were fixed on the 360. The marketplace was really easy to navigate, now it's all jumbled together.
