Just like you can hear a comedy cast on the TV or radio, and you don't understand why the audience is laughing as the jokes are hit and miss. But if you attend the comedy club and just because of the atmosphere, being with your friends, the food and drink, etc., you end up laughing at almost everything. Just being there makes the comedy somehow better. I don't think I've ever attended a comedy club where everyone wasn't laughing to some degree.
Thats just human nature in general. We enjoy events & experiences in person, much more than we do watching it on video. Its the reason why people still attend sports events, speaking events, concerts, etc in person. There is nothing like experiencing something first hand with your own ears, eyes and touch.
That said, I cant wait for this last remaining month wait to hurry up and past by. Not so much than I can play the new consoles, but that the internet can finally get beyond analyzing every spec, review, video and announcement. And people can finally experience both new consoles first hand.. and form their own opinion of how great or not the experience is with each. Instead of debating how great or not it "might" be. It doesn't help that these consoles were announced so early on and that everyone seems to have internet access and is participating on a forum/blog/tech website now.
I just went thru the same thing on Corvette Forum where a entirely new Corvette has finally started shipping to customers this month, after 9 model years of the previous generation. Being this new generation "C7" was announced way back in January, meant that the "C7 thread" has full of debating, questions and bickering for the past 9 months. Now that guys are finally picking up their new Corvette and actually driving them. Its been absolutely amazing watch that particular forum change from the "woulda, coulda, shoulda crowd" to real experiences, real observations and real opinions about the new car. Having just seen the new C7 in person for the first time two weeks ago.. and getting to sit in it and adjust anything I wanted. There is no video, stat, spec or blogger review that even comes close to what I experienced with my own senses 1st hand.
