HC4000 White issue

Hello Everyone,

Sorry if I am not positing this in the correct location, I am new here. I have a Mitsubishi HC4000 DLP projector for a couple years now. I have it on a elite screen 1.1 100in. I have it measured out and the throw distance according to the Mitsubishi specs.

I have used the projector for about 1300 hours with the out of box settings and standard lamp mode. I have had no problems until this point. However, about 3 months ago, I started to notice that the in the whites of skin tones are very pixelated and overexposed. It really shows in skin tones or sweating skin tones such as in UFC fights. I also notice it a great deal in any movie I watch. I have adjusted the colors, brightness, contrast, and then reset it back to factory and unable to get rid of the color.

I figured it was a lamp that was going out, so I ordered a new OEM lamp from Mitsubishi and installed it. The same problem is happening with it. I can try to supply a picture later if need be. I have tried to contact Mitsubishi technical support for the past 3 days and unable to reach them. I have emailed, called, left voice messages and no response.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Are you using 'BrilliantColor', if so, try turning it off.

Thanks for the replay. After finally reaching tech support, it was determined it is a bad DMD chip. Mitsubishi is replacing it free of charge.
