Okay, one more:

If a subwoofer system were a trumpet, our subwoofer system would be a piccolo that thought it was a clarinet.

i stepped away from my computer and bam...look at these replies!

well thanks everyone for paying attention to my desperate needs. after reading through i think the consensus is, that the JBL's add a bit too much risk, the energy is too low voltage, and the PA-150 is worth the extra few dollars. my new options are below, which are starting to bang the budget a bit, but I'm open to the conversation...

Options:

1 - PA-150 ($373 after shipping) http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004436EEU/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
2 - Klipsch Rw-12 ($350) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882780078&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Home+Audio+Speakers-_-N82E16882780078&gclid=CNWh-fL5yLcCFYVZ7AodOmkA9w

Like i said before, the room is quite large with allot of volume. also, I'm mostly watching movies so the lows that rattle the room are what we're looking for, not necessarily the best overall performer. So what will it be, Option 1 or Option 2..?

thanks again!

Option 2 when it goes on sale for around 300$ (frequently) or Option 1 if you can't wait.

I'd be interested to know myself the failure rate of that particular Jbl. I don't recall any links to that info being posted in this thread?

Edit: http://www.amazon.com/JBL-ES250PBK-High-Performance-12-Inch-Subwoofer/product-reviews/B00166ZFSO/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

It does indeed seem to fail quite often.

The Amazon reviews will give you an idea.

yea, i went to amazon myself and read i think 11 reviews specific to failure within only a matter of years. in most cases they were 4-6 years ill admit, but if im going to spend $200 in high risk, i might as well spend $100-150 more and get a better sub with Much less risk of failure.

no issues at all...  Just thought id share that :)

If you are open to a Factory Refubished model, then I could suggest another option from Velodyne that might fit your requirements in performance and price.

Velodyne provides a standard 2 year warranty on all subwoofers.
