Off Angle Viewing Samsung or Panasonic

Hi folks,

I am looking to pick up a 50" TV for our kitchen / family room to be mounted with a swivel arm. Wondering about off angle viewing. I am looking at the Samsung EH6000 or ES7100 or Panasonic LE64. For me I don't care about 3D or any smart tv features as I will feed an apple TV into it. Really I just want decent viewing angles and 2D quality in a well lit room.

Cheers!

I would suggest viewing each tv at the angle you want, if you can, at BB or where ever. The specs for off-axis viewing, imo, are a bit confusing. I've seen specs that were the same (178 degrees) on two different mfrs but the pq for the off-axis viewing was noticeably different. Possibly due to the panel type used.

Good feedback. I will head into a few stores and test. Given the high amount of fluorescent light in stores that should also help as a worst case.

The Panasonic models appear to have better off angle viewing from what I have seen, and they use an IPS panel which is known for better side viewing. The ES7100 does fade badly from side angle viewing. The EH6000 is better in that regard, possibly because of the direct backlighting. Also now their is a FH6030 at a similar price point.
