Almost guaranteed, at first they will probably lie to you... "what law, no such law, don't know what you're talking about"... it's in their genes!
One thing about me, I do not take NO for an answer very well and I will agressivly PUSH till I get a clear answer. I have been dealing with Comcast for years with issues and many headaches.
Ok, I called comcast last night. After talking to a lady about it and telling her what QAM and Clear QAM is, she told me she has been an expert for 30 years and never heard of QAM (isn't that how cable works over QAM ? Duh). So I said, no offience if you dont know what I am talking about, get me to someone who does. She was not very nice and was trying to make me feel like I was wrong. LOL
After about 5 min on hold, I talked to a guy who was trying to force me into getting a tuner adapter, after telling him FCC states as you block channels the law says you need to provide people with IP based tuners with an option for 3 years. After digging on him for a little, he admited it. He said they are requred to provide something but, at this time they did not have an option to allow this. I asked when they will have a solution for this issue he said he does not know. So, I asked, I paying for service, what is my options here ? He said nothing right now, I told him should I file a compaint with the FCC about this because you are requred to have something to work for this option. He said go head.
Funny thing, I got a call back from their automated survey after that for the first person I talked to, Yea, not a very good review, trust me...she didn't have a clue...
Anyway, I guess the next thing for people with IP based tuner options (I guess you could tell a white lie if you have a QAM tuner in your TV or computer) to file a FCC complaint.... as they SHOLD be providing something for this and they are not.
Edit: Oh, well dam goverment shut down... Gota wait till the Obma care crap is done...
Federal Communications Commission
We regret the disruption, but during the Federal Government-wide shutdown, the FCC is limited to performing duties that are immediately necessary for the safety of life or the protection of property. FCC online systems will not be available until further notice.Edited by DavidinCT - 10/2/13 at 10:28am
