Panasonic S64 at Costco - Page 3

Does anyone know if you can go into a Costco location and order the S64 and then when it comes in go and pick it up and avoid the extra $100 shipping charge? Is that possible?

I tried to do exactly that when the 65" was available on-line to avoid the $99.99 shipping fee (that was before the free shipping for the 65" model was offered). I was told NO that I could NOT order on-line and have it shipped to the store. I don't know if that is national policy or not. Judging by the way Costco works with its warehouse procedures, they have no ability to order something and hold-it for customer pick-up at the store as if it were a special order item not normally stocked on the floor. And if they were out of in-store inventory, I doubt 99% they would order one TV just for you. They'd have to have room to secure a members' order and that would become a mess. They are not set up like a Wallmart or Sears that has storage for on-line orders delivered for customer pick-up at the local store.

Costco has the Panasonic TC-50PS64 back in stock on-line. This is the 50" model. Currently it is showing 28 units. Still, you have to pay the $99.99 for shipping. Check your local Costco if you want the 50". That size seems to be the preference size stocked in the warehouses.

I did call Costco earlier, they said they have 24 on order that are due to arrive on August 22nd. After I hanged up I thought what if I just went over there today and paid for it now they would hold me one untilI get there on the 22nd? Just wondered if anyone ever did it that way..........the online price is $599 right now like you said, I'm just wondering to make up for that will the instore price be a $100 higher, $699?

Golly guys/gals you've get to work to find out the inventory levels. This is how to do it:

1. Type in a quantity #.
2. Click the green box, BUY ONLINE.
3. x out the ad to add extended warranty coverage.
4. Take a notice of the quantity in the box. Click the green box, BEGIN CHECKOUT.
5. If the quantity you have entered exceeds the inventory level than a notice will appear at the top of the page, "Inventory is not available for items [101856] please remove the items from the cart or decrease the quantity."
6. Hit the BACK button on your mouse or browser arrow.
7. Re-enter a new smaller number in the quantity box.
8. Click below the quantity field the word UPDATE.
9. A new calculated price will appear for the quantity you have entered.
Then repeat starting with #2 above. You won't have to x out the extended warranty. Continue the process until you no longer get the warning in #5 above. Then you have figured out the on-line inventory.

I hope this exercise helps you. Craig-Paul.

They told me the instore price is currently $599 as well.

I think I really want the TC-P50ST60 though..........Just wish it was between $800 and $900 rather then $999. Hate to settle for a 50S64 though...........guess I have about 2 weeks to find a deal on the TC-50ST60 which I think is a better set.

Sam's Club currently has the 65S64 for $1288 with free shipping. I don't have a membership though. I have read online about people getting free 1 day passes with the 10% fee waved, is this still possible?

If not, it seems you can just get a refund on your membership at any time, no questions asked? i.e. pay for membership, buy tv, cancel membership, no extra fee charged? Seems too good to be true?

Okay, I caved in and just picked up a Panasonic TC-50PS64. Figured it was a wiser move then going for the TC-P50ST60 at $999.99.
I thought more about and figured my Aunt and Uncle really don't need the 3d or all the other bells and whistles of the more expensive set.

Picked up the Panasonic TC-50PS64 at the Manhawkin, NJ ( about 35 minutes from my house one way) Costco. When I called they had 9 in stock, after I got mine they have 7 left now.

It was a tight fit on the seat of my Dodge Intrepid, had to leave the passenger back seat door open by about 4 inches. I used a bungee cord to hold the door shut. Wrapped it around the head rest.

Now I just need to find some good settings for it if it isn't up to par out of the box.

Paid $599 plus tax.......$641.99

I've got the same television and love it - good buy! There are two that I've seen most common:

Fairchild's configuration
D-Nice's configuration

I've tried both and feel that D-Nice's configuration works better for me.
Not sure what's going on with the Fairchild link. Just search for "fairchild panasonic s60 configuration" on Google. Or use D-Nice's smile.gif

Also, after you use it for like 100 - 200 hours, the colors will "settle in". I had to re-adjust the settings after a while. So maybe give it some time and then calibrate it?
So your advice is to just leave the settings alone, out of the box is tolerable for now in your opinion?
Oh, feel free to adjust now, just know that those settings might not look great until the panel is "broken in". Make sense?
I've had my TV (TC-50PS64) since June and I haven't messed with the settings at all. The TV and color seems to be working great for me as is. I haven't noticed any lag when playing on my PS3 call of duty online so I'm not sure what other people are talking about. Bar none, it's the best $600 bucks ever spent on a TV. I've watched sports channels for 7 hours, numeious different shows like discovery channel with the Symbols in the corner and I haven't seen any of this burn in people are talking about.

I didn't need all the smart features of a more expensive TV so this one is perfect for me. I had a nice LED Sharp Aquos from 2008 previously which cost me $2400 and this new $600 plasma TV is much better in my opinion. The anti-glare works well. If this TV didn't have the anti-glare, I would have not purchased it. I do wish the TV had 1 more HDMI port but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I hope to purchase this 50" either today or tomorrow from Costco. for previous buyers, did you have to upgrade your firmware or no need?
I did not need to.
The 65" is not available at my local Costco and am tempted to just buy the 50" problem is we already have a TH-PZ5085U and would like something bigger to go downstairs in our new house. I guess I could just go get the 65" at Sams but is it really worth double the price in size?

Oh and my local Costco has the 50" for $649 and they say they won't price match their own online site at $599

I had to take it out of the box to fit into my Subaru Legacy. It was like two inches too big.

FYI Current Inventory levels of the Panasonic TC-65PS64

Costco on-line: zero

Sams Club on-line: Was 12 last night, today 24

EDIT: Sams Club NOW - 29 quantity 8/14/2013 @ 9:50pm P.S.T.

EDIT: 02/15/2013 @ 5:24pm P.S.T.- I just checked Sams Club for the 65". Earlier today there were 28 units. Now you cannot add one unit to the cart, and you get an error message at the top stating, "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later."

You only needed 1 seat down right, The box is only 10" wide.

Here are the measurements of the carton if anyone needs them for the 50" ........53" x 31.4" x 10"
64" ........67.5" x 40"x 13.1"

How did you hold in place so it didn't move around corners, etc?
Outdoor lawn cushions, also could use some cardboard boxes wedged inbetween tv and outside wall of car, ropes, tie it to the headrest of the other seat that is still up. Take anything and everything you have to try to keep it from moving. Also another person in the front seat could try to hold it when cornering.

Picked up the 50in from Costco tonight. There where 5 in stock at the Columbus, Ohio store when I was there.
How hot does the 50PS64 run, too hot for a 15x18 bedroom that's already a degree or 2 warmer than the rest of the house?
Just picked up one today at Manahawkin Costco. now their are four!
Not all Costco stores have received shipments of the S64. My 3 area stores have them listed as $599 but have never had them supplied to the store.
