"Turn Off Advertising" apparently no longer works?

Has anyone else noticed this too?

Edit: Sorry. It appears now that it just needed to be toggled On/Off for some reason. All of a sudden today I was seeing ads, I looked at my preferences and Ads were "Off". I toggled them on/off and then I stopped seeing them. All's well that ends well . . .

How do you turn it off (or toggle it), it is doing it for me too and I don't see where to re-set it or toggle it.

William,

You need to be an AVS Club member. Maybe you were an annual member and it expired?

I thought some settings got "unset" today, too. But I had visited the profile earlier and thought it was my error.

What's happened??

I am now seeing the right-side column with featured stories, recent pictures, etc., whereas I AM an AVS Club Member and have my preferences set to suppress everything except normal thread posts. That right side is distracting and unwanted.

What's happened? Is this the result of the recent maintenance upgrade the other night? Is this intentional, or unintentional?

Please help.

I saw this yesterday and found some selections needed to be set again in my Profile.

Exactly which settings did you toggle to accomplish the elimination of the right-side presentation?

And again... is this due to the recent forum software upgrade, or something else??

Dsperber,

You're not currently an AVS Club member. Perhaps you were on the yearly plan and it lapsed?

I definitely was a member, but perhaps I was "comp'ed" last year during the transition to the new Forum software and all of the initial problems we went through.

Can you tell when my membership expired?

And if so, how do I go about re-upping??

It probably just expired as we just passed the year mark from the transition.

Here's the link to the AVS Club info:
