Viewing off my computer monitor, the Kuro has slightly pink skin tones, whereas the Panasonic has slightly yellow/green skin tones. Could be a matter of just tweaking.

Shadow detail and black levels look excellent on both.

I think to me, the gray of a Kuro + are neutral, Pana still trending a greenish hair, this is not new ...
It's hard to see the color texture of a Kuro, is unique to Pioneer ...
To the level and depth of blacks, the Kuro is still the master in a dark room,
but little ... wink.gif

I agree with the green comment. Hard to tell a difference in black level from my computer screen, but I will defer to you, since you have both in your home.

I just wanna reach out and grab Harry's bad hat !

Urga,
I have a 5020 and a PS3 - is the 320 better than the PS3 ?

The Kuro , to me, just does skin tones/ faces better than the St60 - maybe I'm biased ?

Just a question? Is your ST 60 calibrated Urga? If it is not then I wouldn't make comparisons to an uncalibrated ST 60. Come on guys pictures don't show how it really looks , the camera that is taking the picture has to be calibrated to D65 white point , the tv's have to be calibrated to D65 white point, the computer monitor most of us are using to view the pictures on have to be calibrated as well. I view the pictures through my tv out vga to hdmi converter and my tv is calibrated. So I get a general idea of what it looks like, I will agree that the flesh tones are not as "natural" on the ST 60 but I would get your ST 60 calibrated before making a "true" comparison. Have a good one smile.gif

If two displays are calibrated, with photos taken by the same camera, same settings, same environment, and you are viewing them on the same monitor, then you should be able to do a comparison.

Both screens have good settings, it is important for the colo is the W / B made manually on each screen with a pattern for 100% compliance with the colorimetry on each photo ... wink.gif

Urga, great pictures. What do you think of the Cleopatra Bluray? I've liked this movie since I was a kid and saw it on TV in the 70s. Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia are pretty darn good. Looks like Cleopatra is in the same league.

How do you like your Sony BD-S790? I have a Sony ES BDP-S5000 which was in my opinion the best in 2008, but it does not play 3D discs, nor does the player recognize some blurays I have. I have thought about getting the BD-S790 for the dual hdmi output as my receiver is not 3D capable and the S790 can play SACD. Any input you can give me would be appreciated.

Your Panasonic looks really good. I'm sure you are enjoying it.
