Forza 5 10 years in the making - Page 23

I've had this since launch and I keep coming back to it wanting to love it. I love cars, loved other Forza's, GT's, hey I am a car guy so I play lots of car games. But this thing is just frustrating. I never drive with assists on in any game, and even with them on in F5 I'm still all over the place. When I can't take a simple corner at 45mph in a 458 italia without spinning out...there's just something completely off about the physics this time around. Add lack of tracks, lack of anything new and this feels like a tech demo.

.....and the jaggies....oh the jaggies.

Is there any way to sell back the cars you don't need any more? I think this has been a staple in racing games for decades, but I can't find a way to do it in this game. Sure would be nice if I could get some credits back for the expensive cars I don't use anymore.

I don't think so. There an option to "remove" a car and I tried that once - the car was permanently removed from my garage but I got no money for it and absolutely no warning that I would lose the car without getting any compensation. Another poor game design choice.

WHy get rid of a car? Is there a limit to the number of cars you can have? If not then I see no reason to get rid of one.
Yeah I don't get the need to get rid of a car?
Yeah I tried "remove car" hoping to get back some credits, but no such luck. So I agree it's a useless feature.

Ummmmm Surprised not to see this posted yet.

New Track available today: Road America.

Hope the link works as my "filtered internet" at work can be wonk.

Someone needs to see if this is incorporated into the career, as I can't access Turn 10's Forza 5 site from work.

Cheers,

Outtie

Is it a free download?

Link says integrated into the career. Awesome news! I will pay for tracks as long as they are integrated.

Yeah, there was a 3 GB automatic update when I launched the game. 3 GB seems like a lot for one track though.

There is also a new car pack, which is typically automatically downloaded as well. Also, given than Road America is being incorporated into the various aspects of the game (career, rivals, etc.), there are probably some pretty significant changes under the hood and I would suspect is the reason for the size of the update.

Nice to see track DLC. And it's especially nice that it's free and even integrates itself into career mode.

I really didn't think it stood much of a chance of happening with their two year release calendar. We're fast approaching 25% of the way to what past history tells us will likely be Forza 6's release date and I'm sure they're hard at work on it as we speak. I wonder what, if anything else, we might get?

here's the launch trailer for the new Road America track (free! yay!):

Cool I will need to boot up this game and play the track, I haven't played in a while.
is it just me or are physics less slippery now?I haven't booted this up for a week or so because I basically got fed up with the cars sliding everywhere and controls not responding. Now I can actually drive. Controller update? game physics engine tweaks? or my imagination?
Although I am excited for new content, haven't had the chance to boot the Xbox One up and D/L it yet. Damn I hate when real life gets in my way!!!!

So for those who have, how is it looking? Did you notice any visual "oomph" and improvment over previous versions?

I am kinda pumped to be playing Forza again as I gave it a break to play some other stuff.

If you got the time, let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Outtie

I thought I read that MS tightened up the analog sticks somewhat with the new update in anticipation of Titanfall based on suggestions from Respawn. I could be wrong though.

Isn't that update supposed to be coming in March, along with Party and Friends, or I could be wrong.

Heck, when will one of us be right?

I've been playing this game pretty regularly over the past few weeks, and I didn't notice any change to the controls after the patch.
the patch for the controls hasn't been released. that's for the march patch.

physics feel the same to me. it's never felt slippery (except when I'm in cars that break out easily).

saw this on Reddit... very cool glitch to get inside your car for photo mode. it also lets us see the driver and other details you don't normally see!

No substitute for a price drop but a fine game for a pack in.

Forza Deep South Is this the possible sequel to Forza Horizons?
Anyone experiencing audio dropouts with this game? Every once in a while, for a split second, the audio drops out and comes back in an instant.
This is such a nice game, but so incomplete. The market place still doesn't work 5 months after the game came out, can't gift cars to friends and can't resell cars you no longer want is bad. I wonder when they'll fix this important things?

That happens with car audio. There seems to be a delay sometimes with surrounding car engine sounds taking a split second to show up.
