Sure some of the plot elements are recycled and redundant from the orignal, but its jammed packed entertainment as far as I'm concern. Die Hard 2 is now my favorite of all the sequels (of course the orignal overall is still the best.)
I watched A Good Day To Die Hard on Friday and Die Hard 2 last night. While I enjoyed some of the action scenes, A Good Day To Die Hard wasn't that great of a movie and is the worst of the series. Die Hard 2, on the other hand, was excellent and I like it every bit as much as Die Hard. Both of the first two movies were based on novels: Nothing Lasts Forever
and 58 Minutes
. Both novels involved a NYPD detective whose name was changed to John McClane for the movies. I like movies based on novels more than movies written just as screenplays. There seems to be more depth to the character development and a better plot.
