Weird...don't remember the last time I saw a price-drop that flipped on Amazon so fast! I wonder what it means.

And HEY MY BAD I totally forgot that Amazon hates New York, California, etc. I'm one of the few who isn't paying sales tax...yet.

Well, I'll post back if anything substantial happens.

@blowabs I owe you an apology -- I double-checked and I discovered that I not only have a price-alert for the 5700, but also for the 6500 (which is available and $750!). A really dumb mistake. I'll pay better attention next time!

Just did a quick Disney disc calibration..

Expert1
Panel light 50
Contrast 99
Brightness 60
H sharpness 20
V sharpness 20
Color 55
Tint G4
Edge enhancer on
Gamma 2.4
Dynamic Contrast low

I like it so far. I don't have any extra motion or enhancement settings because I'd like to use this TV for video games and such. Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Excellent and CONGRATULATIONS! That's great news. Just keep in mind that Newegg has a "limited replacement-only return" policy on TVs. Once it's yours it's yours. wink.gif

Maybe I should list my 50" Panasonic plasma and work up some good LG karma. Paid $2500 for it in 2006 and I'll be lucky to get $200 for it today! LOL

Bought my Tosh LCD 55" 3 YEARS AGO[$1350]......ONLY GETTING 375 for it tho...tho i should be happy.
I still haven't pulled the trigger. And that is the reason why... that dammed limited warranty thing. What happens if in 30 days they don't have anymore 5700s????? I'm stuck with them sending me something else.

Which sounds right, but that's how it turned out. Definitely plan on playing around more.

Pulled the trigger this morning. My doorman's brother is coming to pick up my 55" LCD on monday. Was gonna wait until Amazon got thee 5700 back in -- but saw on the mobile site that it wont be delivered till Dec. 18th..which to me might mean never. I imagine LG is not making any more, esp. because BB has none and no other places are moving off their $950-1100 price.
I hope i get a good one. Btw...Newegg is saying the $797 sale ends on 11/5. Now i cant wait.
But i need those images to run on a usb stick for the break in...Anyone??? ty

Does anyone use those little magnetic rings that come with the unit, which wraps around the power cable? My picture looks great, but just wonderin...?

Also, thanks for the settings tips, I haven't tried them yet, but plan to!

I used the one for the power cord, but my network cable was too thick to accomodate the other one.

I got this tv today and I am having some audio issues...

I have a Vizio soundbar with ARC....I tried the following configurations with no avail..Video has been fine throughout...

Cable Box, HDMI 1

Xbox          HDMI 2

Optical Cable from TV to sound bar(changed audio to optical and tried LG optical)

I can get sound through the TV speakers, but not the soundbar(the light on my optical cable is on so it is working).

ARC from Sound Bar to TV ARC

Cable Box HDMI 1 on soundbar

Xbox HDMI 2 on soundbar

No audio from TV speakers when selecting TV speakers, no audio through soundbar....soundbar was able to switch video from TV to Xbox properly..

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The tax kills it for me tho...
FWIW the 5700 panel is showing as back in stock next Tuesday at Amazon. $800, and of course sales tax varies by state.

www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CPDRKWG/

(By the way I checked 8 times to be sure!)

Let's see...Nov 4 -> Nov 12 = 8 days. Sounds painful but you've got internet TV and maybe going cold turkey for a week will be a positive thing? smile.gif

Waitwaitwait...did you do Newegg or Amazon? Just curious.

Sorry, can't help with that (yet anyway). I am (naively?) planning to Google a bit, and download a digital file that I can either stream via DLNA or just plug in to a USB port and play ad nauseum. I RTFM recently and was really impressed to see the large range of video formats the TV decodes natively. Really impressive!

I saw this TV at Micro Center today for $699. I'm very close to picking it up but I'm getting it to match my new PS4. To anyone who has done the gaming on this TV, do feel confident that the lag can be fixed through settings? Would you still recommended for purchase?

My other thought would be getting a 50 inch around the same price point. Any help is much appreciated.
On a side note, I found this for people who wanted a manual. It looks like it's online only. I hope this helps.

So, time to cancel my Amazon order.
