The Blu-Ray + Digital Copy product is NOT eligible for the $5.99 3D copy promotion. I also called Disney Movie Rewards today and spoke with a representative who also confirmed this. If you truly want the 3D version for $5.99, the best I can recommend is following what I did. List it on Amazon for a reasonable price, I sold mine listed at $14.00 + 3.99 shipping. I noted in the description that DMR points and Digital Copy were not included in the sale and I was selling it because it doesn't have the 3D voucher. I sold it within a couple of hours. I had to quick rush to the PO to send it 5 minutes before they closed. I also noted in the description "Fast Shipping with USPS Priority." I know I could have made it an option for expedited shipping, but I'm just glad I'm not out $23.00. Although Best Buy did allow me to use the $7 coupon post-purchase. So I paid 9.49 for this mistake. Priority shipping cost just under $6, so it was greater than the $3.99, but I'm nice like that.
As I said, it wasn't a total loss and it's cheaper than paying for the 2D and then the 3D ($23 + $32/$35 = $55/$58). Then I used the second $7 coupon at Walmart, they had like 2 copies left of the BD+DVD+Digital Copy on the shelf. So that was $13 + tax. I have noticed that Walmart does not advertise sale prices on the shelf of certain new releases. I had the same "problem" at my local store when The Hobbit Part 1 was released.
As for the movie itself, I enjoyed it. I thought it was a neat and interesting story. I can understand how viewers might not have like James Franco as the lead role, but I thought it worked all right. My mind wasn't blown away by the plot, but I did find it entertaining to say the least. As for the visuals, I thought they were spectacular. True eye candy, once in Oz of course. For the viewers who like rich color and saturation, this is a must see film. Even in the 2D version there's a lot of depth that I could expect some really neat effects in the 3D version. I really look forward to seeing it in 3D in hopefully a week or so. Disney Movie Rewards has been pretty quick with our past redemptions, that I expect to receive the movie closer to the 2 weeks rather than 4 weeks.
