I didn't notice any changes either.

Wonder why the file was so large?

It was almost half a gig.
One change I saw was, it gave me option for 3D on Netflix. Haven't tried it out yet so don't know if it's just showing up in the app or actually working. I didn't see 3D option before this.
3D option was already in Netflix.
I think it depended on you ISP.

Mine, Charter, did not have Netflix 3d because they did no comply with Netflix OpenConnect(?). But now Netflix has recently relaxed that requirement and now I can get Netflix 3D with Charter as my ISP.

But none of that has anything to do with the LG firmware update. It is just a coincident that both events happened at about tha same time.

Speaking of Netflix 3D on the LG.... jury is still out on it with me. Will have to do some more "playing" with it.
Yeah, Netflix 3D showed up for me as well. I think it had more to do with Netflix opening up 3D and SuperHD than the firmware update. 3D didn't work for me due to my Comcast Economy Plus package (3 down and 1 up).

In the user guide it says the "User" de-judder/de-blur settings are adjustable. I'm only able to adjust the de-judder as there is no de-blur setting. Anyone else missing the de-blur setting?
I'm missing the de-blur as well. I wonder If the latest firmware took that function away. It's even mentioned in the review on lcdtvbuyingguide
USER SETTING:
De-Judder – 0
De-Blur – 10

I don't have it either. Never did.

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and registered because I'm losing my mind over getting american netflix on my 50LA6900.

I managed to change my DNS, to one that I know works (from tunlr). Internet was working fine. That allowed me to view the US netflix catalogue but when I clicked anything to play, it said we're having trouble with this title (error aip-701).

Did some digging, people said to enter the up,up,down, down etc code into netflix, deactivate my account, and log back in. I did that and I couldn't get to the log in screen. It gave me error UI 502. I couldn't get  into netflix at all. Only when I changed my DNS back to auto, did it allow me to log in again.

I've tried setting my LG TV country to USA. Same issue. I've been trouble shooting for near 5 hours now and I'm getting really frustrated. All I wanted was to watch a 3d movie on netflix.

Can anyone help? I've tried nearly everything...

I get that error on some of the SuperHD movies I watch. I can't watch 3D movies due to my 3 down 1 up and wireless connection. What's your internet connection speeds?

I can actually watch Super HD in the Canadian Netflix. I've watched a few shows with no trouble.

My download speed is 50 mbit/s

Maybe try a different DNS number. A quick google search gave me a different DNS than tunlr. I've never had the aip error when starting a movie. I usually get it in the middle of the movie. Most of the time I'm able to resume the movie without a problem. I wish I could be of more help.

Is it possible that a DNS code can work on one device (i.e. my tablet) but not on my LG TV? Xoned could you send the code that works for you?

I'm sorry for the abundance of questions, it's just that I don't have cable at my place and the Canadian Netflix is pretty much awful. My shiny new TV is pretty much just sitting there.

Is it possible, yes but I doubt it. My TV is connected to my wireless network and everything is automatic. So the DNS will look like 192.168.1.1.
It's probably DNS problem. I'm also living outside US, before the tv i was using playmo.tv DNS account, and it somehow not working on LG tv's Netflix . Than i start using unotelly, now Netflix also SuperHD and 3D titles working fine and very fast also.

Ha. It was a DNS problem. Apparently, not all WORKING DNS servers will allow you to connect to American Netflix on LG Smart TV's. Interesting.

One more question, I have a 12GB 3D 1080P MKV movie. My computer is connected through DLNA, and I can see files from my comp on my TV. I can play most, except the MKV files. I don't see them in the listings. They're in the same folder however. They're just not showing up.

In options I saw something about divx registration. Is that what's causing the problem? Do I have to register for divx for the MKV files to show?

I'm new to this whole thing haha. I'm learning quite a lot though!

What DLNA Server are you using? The LG Smart TV can play some types of MKV files but not necessarily all. To avoid repeating an explanation see HERE. You may have to find a DLNA server that will transcode your particular MKV file format.

For a DLNA server I found Windows Media Player and the "free" Nero MediaHome Essentials that comes with the LG Smart Tvs to limited/restricted. I use Mezzmo. It is not free but I believe you can download a trial version.

There is a limitation of the LG LA6900 (and LA7400?) Smart TVs as DLNA clients. It IS NOT a Mezzmo or other DLNA servers' problem but the LG DLNA Client. It has to do with its ability to display artwork. For more info see my thread HERE

Oh I didn't even know I was using a specific one. I just found my PC enabled under smart-share without doing anything specific. I'm assuming this is the default Windows DLNA? Unless it's not DLNA but something else?

I see all my videos except those in .mkv format. So Mezzmo will fix this?

Sounds like you are using WMP DLNA server and it will not serve/transcode MKV files.

There are a lot of different PC based DLNA server apps out there. Use google. A sample listing is HERE/ NOTE you need a DLNA SERVER. sonce that is what the LA6900 DLNA Client supports.

As an LG owner you can download and try the "free" Nero MediaHome Essentials DLNA server from LG support. Install it and see if it meets your needs.

You can also download and try Mezzmo HERE. If it works and you like it it is 40% off its $30 list price so ~$18 right now.

There are others. You have a little reading to do... eek.gifbiggrin.gifwink.gif

You can use Universal Media Server to steam .mkv files to your tv.

www.universalmediaserver.com

I use 2.6.5, I had problems using the version 3.0 releases with another media streamer.

When you useTunlru have to make sure your IP addresses white listed by their gatekeeper application. Read the Tunlr site for details. I live in Ghana, Africa an can access the US Netflix catalogue using Tunlr DNS.
Hi. Not sure if you already solved this problem. The LG TV can definitely play most files out there, including high-resolution MKV files.

Your problem is that your DLNA server (in this case, Windows Media Player) does not add MKV files to it's library, thus does not make it available to access via DLNA. Not sure if this would help: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-pictures/mkv-files-cannot-be-recognized-by-wmp-12-as-video/b6a272c3-6191-4826-bfc0-9b96b9ee5c6c

You could also play the file off of the USB ports if you copy it to a flash drive or external hard drive (formatted as NTFS, due to the large file size).

What are some 3D settings you guys use on your sets?
I was looking for a nice wall mount set for our basement to use for gaming and general entertainment, and hopped on the current Adorama deal for the 47" LA6900 on Techbargains. Killer price for this set! Any issues to be aware of that are specific to this model? I plan on running through a calibration (Calman/i1 Display) to take advantage of the full CMS when I take delivery in the next week or so.
None that I can think of with the exception of some minor light bleed. That's to be expected with edge lit displays. But again mine is minor and barely noticeable. I tried using the calibration settings found on the lccbuyingguide site, however, I prefer the cinema setting with a few tweaks.

I have not done any gaming on my 55" as I don't have a console other than my Wii. I did hook the Wii up but only played for a bit and didn't notice any lag.
I just bought the 55la 6900 and in the trumotion settings there's no adjustment for deblur only dejudder. why is that? I have another lg tv that has this setting.the 5700 2012 model.am I missing something? I'm a huge fan of trumotion.
No you're not missing something. For some reason LG omitted this setting. I have yet to figure out why.
That's weird. If anyone knows why or if they are going to change this with a update eventually please let me know.thanks!! Also with local dimming is this best to set at high? I see some people say to just keep it off but I thought this was a big plus on this tv.
I have local dimming set to off. If I recall with it on it created some banding.
