For Sale:
FS: DIY 3-way (RAAL, AudioTechnology, Scan-Speak) & DIY Center Channel

Will Ship To: Nowhere -- local only

I never thought I would fall to the WAF and now look where I find myself. I am putting my custom 3-way speaker up for sale as well as a custom center channel.

The enclosures were both sprayed with automotive paint and rubbed until a high gloss was achieved. The drivers are a RAAL 140-15D, an AudioTechnology 18H (custom), and a Scan-Speak 26W/8867T in the 3-way. The tweeter portion uses ClarityCap SA capacitors and there are foil inductors where required. The cabinet was built with an aluminum plate behind the tweeter cabinet allowing easy access at the crossover to make modifications. I never got around to doing that.

The center channel uses a Scan-Speak 6600 tweeter, an AudioTechnology 15H midrange, and two Dayton RS180 drivers.

I would like $4,000 for the package. I spent over $3,000 finishing the speakers so please understand the high asking price for a custom design. I obviously am unable to ship these speakers so local pick-up would be the ticket. I am in the Minneapolis area if there is interest.

I have the crossover schematic and the drawings. My friend who helped with the crossover design I consider to be extremely competent. The midrange has a first-order filter, the woofer has a second-order (electrical), and the ribbon has a 4th-order filter. There are two notches on the midrange to counteract different resonances.

PM me with any questions.

Thank you Newbie01.

If there are interested buyers please notice the links below. They will provide you with insight about the drivers and give you an idea of what you are seeing here smile.gif.

Link to a similar 3-way build using the RAAL 140-15D and a similar midrange to the center channel offered here: http://www.audioexcite.com/?p=3363
This build of Troels' uses almost the exact same mindrange. The only difference is his has the inclusion of aluminum in the motor: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Jenzen-ATS.htm
In this 3-way build, Troels uses the paper version of the 10" Scan-Speak woofer used in my speakers: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Jenzen-Illuminator.htm
Verbiage is contained here about the tweeter used in the center channel: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Illumina-66.htm
The center channel used this link as inspiration but upgraded the midrange and tweeter then rounded the front edges of the cabinet: http://speakerdesignworks.com/Statements_Center_Channel.html

These puppies use RAAL ribbon tweeters and AudioTechnology midranges and woofers: http://www.kaiser-acoustics.com/en/speakers/classic/classic.html
