Not sure I understand the dumbed down or core gameplay suffering comments. Dumbed down in what way, and what core game play has been affected?
Lately I haven't been using boosts so I don't level up so quick. Think Dice went a bit overboard on the number of boosts you get, but I don't think it makes a difference either way.
Maybe dumbed down was a bad reference. What I mean is they are making it too easy. In BF3 I probably took me close to 600 hours or more to get my colonel 100 shitbucket and some of my friends have done it in less than 150 hours on BF4. I have no problem making unlocking guns easy because no one wants to grind to unlock guns, but part of what kept me going in BF3 was to get my shitbucket and that will be lost in BF4.
As far as core gameplay...the vehicles man, they are screwed up. Tanks and IFV's aren't too bad (although I do miss having a third seat on the MBT) but air vehicles are completely useless. You can have good runs in a little bird if you have a repair crew, but the attack choppers aren't even used. I was saying the other night that it's funny on BF3 with 12 people you could never get the attack chopper because everyone wanted to fly it. On BF4 I constantly see the attack chopper sitting in the spawn because no one wants to use it with all the fire and forget launchers and counter measure being broke.
On top of that, mints the weapons. Not that they shoot bad or anything but they don't feel like they did in BF3. In BF3 guns had their own little distinctive characteristics and in. BF4 most of the guns quite frankly feel alike. Now all of this can be fixed via patches, but it just seems this game was rushed out the door and I think we the consumers deserve more.
