I will look for it in the a.m. before I go to work. I just don't know how the whole only premium members get to DL it the first 3 days. I mean I know the game knows you bought premium, but what about your console...I guess it knows but how is DICE implementing the premium members only getting the DL.

Now that you mention it, this may be an in game download like all the Premium content was.

And so goes my morning download plans. All good, may sneak out of work early.

So the US PS3 beta won't be available to DL till tomorrow evening for us in the east coast?

So much for my plans for some BF4 action tomorrow. I had plans to leave work midday but it still won't be available to the evening and then we have to wait for that painfully slow PS3 download. No BF4 for me till Wednesday I guess.

I'll give the open beta a shot.

Depending on the size of the download and how quickly PSN is going we could be playing on Wed. Good thing I kept one 360 in the house.

I just downloaded an update to MOH which was 470MB in about ~3 min. It was astonishingly fast.
Something that people didn't know about the bf3 updates/DLC was that you had to start it and then exit the game. The DL speed would tripple.

Yeah, looking forward to playing the beta on 360 three Saturdays from now by the time it finishes downloading there. tongue.gif

Checked the PS store through the dashboard and through the BF3 game disk this morning before heading to work to see if for some miracle the beta would be available and I can leave it DLing throughout the morning but didn't see anything. Wishful thinking on part I guess. Oh well. It seems PS3 Premium members really only have 2 day early access, not 3 days like they claimed.

Android Battlelog app updated to reflect BF4 this AM.

Yeah, same thing for the Battlelog iOS app. I'm updating now.

I was about to rage agree, but then, maybe it won't "Open" till the night of the 4th.
Thinking about it, that's still crap. They should have marketed "3 nights" early since that's what you're getting, like a cruise ship.

Well, is it now fair to question the legitmacy of most reviews on PSN?

Maybe they're rating the cover art? E3 game play vids?

Site should block ratings until release day, but hey free positive marketing for DICE.

Beta is now live on the PS3 store.

Go to the PS Store > Games > PS3 Demos > Betas and it should show up there.

My EA connection timed out but the intro part looks really good.

Played a few matches. Graphics look like BF2 on PC but gameplay is still good. Swap your controls to veteran otherwise the stick drives. Spot is now rt trigger.

Just FYI...

Battlefield 4 Beta Known Issues

Emerging and Ongoing Issues:

  • Players are having trouble launching Battlefield 4 due to timing out.
  • Beta may not yet be available for your platform. Check here for release timing details. If you do not see the Beta available in your console's store, be sure to try restarting your console and looking again.
  • Stats may take up to an hour or longer to update in-game and on Battlelog. Unlocks earned will not be available for play until your stats have updated past this delay.
  • Some players unable to complete Battlefield 4 pre-order purchases through the Origin Store.
  • Try checking "Save my account and billing information" to continue with your purchase.
  • If you've already saved your details before, edit a field, select Proceed to Review Order, then go back and correct the changed field, check "Save my account and billing information" once more, and try to proceed.

Gameplay-Affecting Issues:

  • PS3 players may not see a hit-indicator upon a successful shot
  • Throwing ammo packs at trees may destroy the tree.
  • Cruise Missles may not destroy vehicles dropped by Vehicle Drop
  • Requirements for your unlock-progression may not be visible

Low-Impact or Visual Issues:

  • Rocket launchers may appear to visibly have a projectile loaded even when you're clearly out of ammo

It is meh, but I am still enjoying it. I know most do not like it but I am a fan of the new control scheme. I am loving the fact that I do not have to either contort my hand to spot while running/flying/driving or take my hands off the left stick all together to do it. Makes a lot more sense to me. Also, since most other FPS games use B (or O) as the melee switching to veteran stick layout helps also.

I agree, I actually like the spot button now. Just sucks that's it a menu that pops up when you hit the old button. They should of had that menu as a button hold. I'll play the beta a little more just to get used to the new button layouts.

I didn't like the new vehicle layout though. Those went right back to veteran really quickly.

Yep, last thing I want is to drive using Halo's PoS warthog config.

Pro tip: If you go into the options menu there is a setting to hide in-game battlelog. When you do this when you hit select it just does nothing. I think it is the second tab in the options menu.

It helps immensely. I am not sure why DICE added this feature, but at least they give you a way to disable while in game...in the menus it still works as intended. I am also glad that it seems the alternate stick layout for helis and jets from BF3 is now the default layout for BF4...I like using the left stick up/down to accelerate/decelerate as opposed to the LT/RT.

I found Lefty to be the best, as in most functional, all other layouts have maneuvering issues, as in technical a issues.
How do to guys use default/alternate without having chopper/jet strafing problems?
