Guide writer might have been confused? Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
From the description, I'm assuming that Leggy the Terror Bird, is the little guy that Lt. Leeds(?) decided to keep in his secret menagerie instead of sending it back through the anomaly at the end of the pot-farm-on-the-abandoned-train episode.

I'm assuming that things go horribly wrong at the secret gov menagerie farm in the finale.

The above info is readily available from the TMS episode descriptions ... spoiler tags were added for those that are hypersensitive to these kind of things. wink.gif

I think the last episode we saw was "Babes", about the chicks in the woods filming the online sex thing, right? Or was there one after that?

Right.

PS: Apparently Tribune *has* botched the episode titles. Syfy-dot-com confirms the last six "new" episodes will air in order starting at 5pm ET Aug 10 ... adjust DVR's accordingly ...
As of right now, the Dish Network EPG only has 5 of the 6 listed, with a re-run listed at 10PM ET.

Same guide source (Tribune,) same mistake -- trust the Syfy schedule. In fact, just set up manual recordings for all six to be safe. Knowing Syfy, this is probably your one and only chance to grab them all in HD.

Just bumping the thread, to remind everyone that the new episodes start at 5:00pm ET today and run through 11:00pm ET. The guides seem to all indicate the wrong episode at 10:00 pm, so you will probably need to manually set your DVRs for the 10:00 pm episode and possibly for the other episodes as well, the guide indicates a repeat of 'The Great Escape' at 10:00 pm, below is hopefully the correct listing, it is according to http://www.syfy.com/schedule/?date=2013-08-10

05:00 PM Truth
06:00 PM Breakthrough
07:00 PM The Great Escape
08:00 PM The Inquisition
09:00 PM The Sounds Of Thunder - Part 1
10:00 PM The Sounds Of Thunder - Part 2

Edit: I suspect if you have the default setting of five episodes to keep in your settings, that you might end up losing the first episode you record, you might want to check series options and make sure it is set for more than 5 episodes.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked my DVR and the repeats were tagged to record, but not the new episodes. I have a goofy DVR.

Note that the last episode (10:00), the series finale considering it's been cancelled, is actually titled "The Great Escape" featuring none other than Leggy, the Terror Bird. We knew we hadn't seen the last of that little feathered fiend. For some reason my TWC guide did not schedule that one, so double-check your recording list.

Crap!! I just finished watching the final episode my TiVo recorded at 10PM, Episode 13. It really sucks that it was cancelled since it was a heck of a cliffhanger.

Aaahhh!!! Just looked at my list and my DVR recorded all but the very last episode, The Sound of Thunder Part 2. mad.gif

Dudes, did you not see my post # 40? Tried to warn you....
Well my TiVo recorded it. And I think people will be even more pissed once you watch that final episode. They certainly had planned on having a second season.

We all did ... starting over 2 weeks ago . biggrin.gif

Anyhow ... managed to slog all the way through, but I missed the first 30 minutes of the last episode due to rain fade. And of course, for this "transgression," I'm expected to either pay for the episode or subscribe to Hulu+. Wrong answer Syfy ... I already subscribe to your channel, ain't paying twice, you need to get these episodes up on D* VOD, pronto. I can even live with SD since I'm only missing 30 minutes. Or you could just run them again in the wee hours.

Spoiler tags for those that haven't made it to the end yet: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
As for the cancellation ... well to be honest, it's looks like they were basically heading down the same plot paths as the original UK version ... same thing only different. We even have the setups for the "Helen" analog and the sudden appearance of the "ARC," Vancouver edition, and "Evan" and "Dylan" getting trapped in the past ...

My DVR set itself up to record all the 6 episodes but something went wanky along the way and when I went to watch my episodes and the BBC American "Being Human" there was no audio. I was thinking "oh great, the 3416 blew it's audio circuit". I also figured that maybe turning it off and back on my help but that wasn't an option as it was still recording episodes. Sure enough after it finished recording all of them I turned it off and on again and audio worked. I'll watch these episodes over the next few days but the series always seemed still a bit too juvenile for it's target audience. Seems Canadians can't even figure that out let alone Hollywood.

I finally watched all the remaining episodes, sans the last very one. Any ideas on how I get The Sound of Thunder part 2? Netflix? Amazon? Does Syfy offer their shows to watch from their website after a certain amount of time goes by? Or do I have to wait until this is released on disc? On a brighter note, it was great seeing Sheriff Jack Carter back in action. I miss that show.

As I said in post #40, there is no episode titled "Sound of Thunder pt. 2". The last episode is titled "The Great Escape".

I watched the first of the last remaining 6. Looks like the show is finally starting to get a bit of depth with a time travel anomaly.

I was watching via Hulu Plus, but it looks like regular Hulu does not have them.

You are wrong, there is a part 1 and part 2 to the Sound of Thunder. The guide had the final episode which was actually Sound of Thunder Part 2 listed in the guide as 'The Great Escape' which was actually episode #10.

All I'm saying is that's what my guide said. And after reading the guide info about the last episode, "The Great Escape" seemed to be a more appropriate title considering the content.

At any rate, for some reason the guide didn't schedule it as it did the other burn-offs, even though it was flagged as "new". And that IPG snafu apparently wasn't limited to TWC. I only discovered it because I checked the guide info ahead of time - and posted here trying to warn people they were likely to miss it. But as the old expression goes: no good deed goes unpunished.

The Mrs. must have been talking whilst I was reading your post. When that happens I not only tune her out, but everything within a 2 block radius as well.wink.gif

So only Hulu Plus? Doesn't Syfy let you watch on their website after say, a week or so has gone by? I don't want to wait until this is released on disc.frown.gif

I really liked "The Sound of Thunder," both parts, quite a bit. Of course, it was nice seeing Potts again, though no Abbey frown.gif so it was far from perfect. They set it up for series two pretty well, too bad the ratings didn't support the show's continuing. I'm glad I intervened and made my DVR record all the episodes, even the one that was mislabeled, or I would have been very unhappy. This was far and away better then Sinbad. My only gripe was just how stupid the military was portrayed. Do they really expect us to believe that the military have no idea of the concept of unintended consequences? I have worked for the military for years, and that is just not how they operate in my experience.

We have been littered with a lot of these short-lived programs this year. confused.gif

Looks like Syfy is going to try and recoup as much $$$$ as they can. There's no indication that they'll put them up on any of the "free" VOD services, even though DirecTV's VOD channels can hardly be called "free." ... Furthermore, there's no indication that they'll repeat the final 6 episodes on the conventional channel (You all were warned in plenty of time.)

All I want is the first 30 minutes of "Sound of Thunder: Part Duex" ... lost due to rain fade ... any other show and you'd at least get a second chance to catch it ...

I am not sure if Primeval was up on regular Hulu before SyFy dropped it. As far as I can tell, another Canadian show "Lost Girl" was never up on Hulu either, so the streaming rights might be more complex than for a show that SyFy commissioned. Come to think of it, the only consistency is inconsistency: Eureka was (last five episodes / computer only) but now only the first three seasons are Plus only. BSG is all seasons Plus only, but missing the mini-series pilot. Merlin has the first 4 seasons on both hulu and Plus. WH13 remains last 5 / computer only. Lost Girl is absent. http://www.hulu.com/companies/syfy
