I'm interested in this thread as I'm making a similar decision. I'll have a 5.1 set up, maybe 7.1 for 100% TV+movies, not music, 15x21ft space with 11ft vaulted ceiling space. I'm less interested in action/spectacle films (will see at theater) but more serious cinema, am primarily interested in accurate/natural/neutral sound. If money were no object I would go for Klipsch reference RF-62 but not sure I can justify the cost. I've moved towards a understanding that 6 inch woofer size / volume and a low resistance speaker / horns would be best, and a surround speaker that throws the sound (dipole/bipole) vs a directed bookshelf right at my ear will fit my space better. Like this thread, many would choose all bookshelf and a more expensive sub, vs tower speakers, so I'll definitely think again about HSU.
One HT set I've been narrowing down on is the Accoustech PL-76, seems on paper to be a good performer with some good reviews, for the price. Only drawback may be lack of bi-amp option for fronts. http://www.acousticsounddesign.com/core/view_BigProduct.cfm?pid=1540&sc=27
