Yes the guy told me that our TV would be replaced with a new TV. I'm working it out with him now.

You should get a discount free warranty something if you decide to keep it imo

We plan on keeping it but he just replied back and said that he was informed that it was new from the factory. He even stated that the panel screws were laid out as if it was new from the factory.

My guess is it was a refurb?

BestBuy. I did notice last night that IR did stick even only after messing with the menu for a few minutes and even after watching the game last night for roughly an hour. But an application of the scrolling bars wiped it completely away. So I guess it is acting like new? Still bugs me that it still says over 900 hours of use already and over 100 power cycles. I mean we even watched them unbox the TV and setup the base on the TV as if it was new. Although we didn't see any plastic film on the display, unless it usually doesn't come with one new?

It comes with a energy sticker but no plastic film, if it were me and they promised you a new set I wouldnt settle for a set with 900 hours on it, not unless they were knocking alot off the price

Well we purchased it as an open box deal so there was price reduction already so we are really not worried about that. However the one who sold us the TV did state that it was a new in box.

Well the truth is we paid 2200 for the display model initially and he threw in 2 pairs of 3D glasses which we think was a good deal considering the current prices for new ones. I am following up with him though only because he did state that it would be replaced with a new in box.

See if you can get an extended warranty out of him, at least BB covers burn in should it ever happen. If you can get that should be able to rest easy.

We already paid for the extended warranty. Even that he screwed up with the price and we were able to get about 20 bucks off

That's what I'm guessing as well. I don't think its his fault. Btw, I am still considering in having Chad come by sometime in July when he's here in DC. Do you think I should run any slides prior to his arrival or any prep work on my part to make things easier?

As long as you have about 200 hours by then nothing special you need to do, you might record some baseball other shows you watch just to have as a sample to view after the calibration, he usually encourages you to watch some content to make sure everything looks good

Ok, that's our plan. Sounds good!

Interesting I got this message from BB forums... He said that it could truly be in fact new but they do testing from the manufacturer which would account for the 900 hours. I don't know about that, 900 hours seems like a lot to me no?

Lol, I figured you did. I don't think there's not much that can be done at this point. Although I do have it in writing and have already taken up with higher management. I'm awaiting a response from them.

I think you should get something, reward points, extra year of warranty, Obviously a sincere apology would be nice also

I agree, which is why I have been in communication with the GM at the BB we purchased the TV from. There is no doubt I am an unhappy customer and voicing my opinion. Will let you know what comes out of it.
