I have never sat in my theater to listen to music; However, I do watch concert Blurays all the time. For me, there is nothing like a well recorded concert from 110db-120db (peaks). Yes, LOUD! Now, if it's the average recording, I'm fine in the 90db range. In the thousands of hours in my room, I have never watched anything at less than 90db (peaks)

I have no fear of neighbors because the closest one is 400 yards away wink.gif

85-90db averages. 95-105db peaks.

The instruments sound like they're in my room at 90db-95db... anything less and I'm just listening to music and not a performance.

SPL's are for wimps. My amp goes to 11 so I just crank it to 11.

The quality of the source material dictates how loud I can listen to my music. Well recorded music I like to listen in the 90-95db range. Not so well recorded material in the 70-75db.
