I own the PSA XS30 you will be very impressive by the build quality for the price, I haven't see anything that come close to this brand ,It was recommended by the guys that made this shootout thread.

I Totally recommend PSA.

I think it's stretch to describe the SVS subs as over-priced. PB-1000 was described as the best <$500 subwoofer in Sound and Vision's review, and in their comparison shootout that included the XV-15 and PC12-NSD, they wrote, "For raw home theater power, our pick is the Power Sound Audio XV15. If you don’t like that model’s bulky form factor, you’ll lose little or nothing sonically by going with the SVS PC12-NSD." PB12-NSD has a flat linear response, better than other subs in its class.

Yes I see where your coming from.

I did state thought svs was, to me (as in IMO) slightly over priced. I should have capitolized "slightly" cause I wasn't implying that they are so over priced that the shouldn't be considered.

The pb13ultra is way over priced IMO but I do agree that pb1000 is a good Bargin, but still for only 49 more dollars I got a lv12r ...

I also stated that if your looking for high output over quality the xv15 is where its at (for the price range) and u basically quoted the same thing.

You definitely were not wrong by saying svs in not over priced because its simply not (except the 13 ultra)wink.gif I was more or less just trying to say that IMO there are better subs in that price range. With that being said ill also say I have never heard an svs or PDA sub in my life and based my input stricktly on the many reviews I have read about the 2

+1 cel4145's comments re the SVS subs.

If I were you, I'd just get a 2.0 system with RAAL Tweeters and forget the sorrounds and center. 2 good speakers with NrT or RAAL will image good and make dialogue stay dead center. If you are gonna be listening to music, I cant recommend this set-up enough.

Sorrounds are just little ambient effects and it wont envelope you any more than a good 2 speaker set-up.

For the sub, go for the rythmic since you are gonna be listening to music as well.

I recommend 2 Acsned towers with RAAL and Rythmic sub to keep up with the RAAL tweeter.

You stupid HT people would actually spend 50% of your budget for a pair of speakers you would use 10%.

Invest on better fronts which will be about 90% of your sound anyway. Sub is understandable.

English is my second language thank you very much,

System for my room.
Room dimension is 13 x 14 x 10.
GIK Acoustics room treatment combo #1.

PS Audio Power conditioner -> Marantz as transport -> Monarchy DIP Upsampler -> Eximus DP-1 DAC -> Job 225 Amp -> Vapor Cirrus Black w/ Amor RAAL upgrade

Gonna run it with custom VH Audio interconnects and cables.

No. We would buy 5 speakers instead of 2 for--and get this--5.1 multichannel content. LOL

Got it for $2,100. I was originally gunning for the BMC PureDAC but a nice used one was listed. Check the BMC DAC out as well. Pretty good DAC w/ dsd.

Hi Chev. I got some good advice in another thread recently that if you (& others) might be interested in. If you intend to wall mount or need to have your surrounds close to walls, the HTM-200 SE's are the better, more versatile choice because they are a sealed box. The CBM-170 SE's are rear ported and therefore cannot be wall mounted and not particularly suited to near wall placement. Also, the 200's are almost 4" shallower than the 170's, which may help if space is limited.

So the answer is no, NAIM101 does not have that system currently setup and playing in his room.

LoL, surprised no one has figured this out by now:

NAIM101 is known on other forums (AH, AC, HF) as SearchofSubs. He is a self-confessed troll who was able to perpetuate a 90 page thread on Audioholics before he was finally banned.

His opinions are not based on any actual experience but are instead based on what he has read in other forums/reviews, and Youtube videos, as he is coming from an HTIB system. Considering that a month ago he knew virtually nothing about hifi, Dueland caps, and DACs, the "advice" he has been slinging around here is dubious at best.

He has previously expressed a disdain for AVS (and AH), so I can only conclude that he is only here to troll and stir things up, which he apparently has been doing a good job of.

well, since you asked...

From HeadFi, your system
From AVS, your system
From AC, your Vapor Cirrus order

And you changed your transport from the Oppo93 to the Marantz because the McIntosh engineer told you to.

From HeadFi re: cables
From AVS re: cables

From AH, incorrectly spelling surround as "sorround"
From AVS, incorrectly spelling surround as "sorround":
"And you can get this with 2 speakers. Not 5 and sorround sound blah.."

From AC, re: Dueland caps
From AVS, re Dueland caps

From HF, re BMC PureDAC
From AVS, re BMC PureDAC

Room size is almost exactly the same.
from AH (SoS) - room size (13x13x10)
from AC (SoS) - room size (13 x 13.6 x 9.5)
from AVS (NAIM101) - room size (13x14x10) nearly exactly the same. What are the odds?

Unique formatting of equipment list. Curious.

Both users seem to have problems misspelling the same words. Odd.
from AH (SoS) - misspelling of convenient to "convinient"
from AVS (NAIM101) - misspelling of convenient to "convinient"

from AH (SoS) - misspelling of receiver to "reciever" and separate to "seperate"
from AVS (NAIM101) - misspelling of receiver to "reciever" and separate to "seperate"

Both users seem to have an obsession with Tekton speakers. Weird.

LOL. Maybe he was looking at my suggestions and got his gear based on my advices? Believe it or not, alot of new members buy their gear based on others recommendations. This forum for instance supports the Ascend and HSU and Arx for low budget speakers and alot of people end up buying those.

Should think twice before calling anyone a "poser" if you are not sure.
