WD TV Live and JBOD enclosure?

Thread Starter
Does anyone have any experience with combining the WD TV Live and a JBOD enclosure, such as the Synology line of HDD enclosures?

I am considering using these devices with one to four WD Red internal hard drives for storage and streaming of a home movie collection, via Ethernet.

Any advice or suggestions would be extremely helpful

Thanks
Jesse

This is what I have ...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817198047

Works beautifully. USB and eSATA connections. Quiet fan. Mine has four 2 TB drives in each bay and WDTV Live has no problems reading and playing the movies.

Thanks for the information!

Question: what internal hard drives are you using?

I am interested in seeing whether or not playing back movies in the .iso or .vob format will stream well - what file format are you using?

Thanks

I streamed from my Synology DS213 with dual WD 3 TB Green drives, over a wired ethernet, to my WDTV Live Plus, with no issues. I'm sure I've played all video formats that are out there.
