Where did you find a 42W6xx model? The only set I've seen any mention of in this series in the U.S. is the KDL-32W650a.

I've been hoping Sony would expand this series to include a 40- or 42-inch screen and would jump on one if it were available.

I guess this is a U.K. model. It's comforting to know that at least Sony is offering this set in some markets. My hope is that a version will be available Stateside soon.

@nes75 : opening a topic just for settings was useless as here on AVS nobody has this model...and you should have read avforums...as an official thread has been opened long ago and has all needed info/opinions.....

signex...you just gave me proof that you did not even bother to gather info on this model.....because if you had you would have seen on avforum that despite the marketing BS from sony...THIS TV does NOT have motionflow !!!!!!!!!!! it has 300 lines of motion and it is a 50hz PANEL !!!!

if you activate the LED motion...motion goes up to 1080 lines...and completely eliminates motion blur....but that mode is unusable as picture gets TOO dark and flickers as hell....

the motionflow is the reason i did not get that TV as i found out the same day i was gonna buy it biggrin.gif

I thought i read somewhere here that it does have motionflow and that it was very smooth.

I like the smooth video playback in my movies, but i can live without it.

I found some settings on a german website, gonna try it now with star trek 2009.
You're right i should have gathered more info, i thought if i read 200hz that it has that motionflow trick.

I got this TV a few days ago after having a good look at it in the store and was impressed. The 32W650A that came home looks nothing like the one that was in the store, which was excellent. I think that there might be something wrong with the US versions of these TVs. Maybe it's a different lower quality panel or an issue with a processor in the set. X-Reality Pro seems to work very well for most SD and HD content when set to Auto and motion artifacts are minimum. The problem is that both backlight and contrast has to be turned up nearly all the way (80 - 90) and brightness to 60 for the picture not to look too dark or dull while the color has to be set to 60 or else colors are too under saturated. Even after turning everything up the picture still looks a little dull with all other enhancements off. The store model on the other hand looked nice with the above mentioned options at their defaults at 50 and all enhancements off. I'm packing it up.
