DTS-MA, DD THD, Etc. I have a question

Sorry if this is a really dumb question.....

If I were to take a blu-ray disc with 5.1 surround DTS-MA or DD-THD sound and feed it to my A/V receiver that is setup to spit out 7.1 sound (like NEO X or Dolby PL 2z) does that change the DTS-MA/DD-THD or simply chop it up for the extra two channels?

It's still the same high res lossless audio. The DSP simply reroutes some sound from the surrounds to the rears.

Ahh man thanks so much for answering that question. You have no idea how much that helps this very moment, as I'm shopping for and trying to plan system configuration.

Thanks again!
