Which is produces best picture quality Sony GW55VE or Panasonic WA30 ?

Am after a nice waterproof camcorder to take on holiday, like the two mentioned. Am after the best possible picture qaulity while being small. I understand in low light this is mostly impossible.

Anything else to consider maybe?

The Sony is likely much better. Here are two important reasons: The Sony does 108060p at 28Mbps; the Panasonic can only do 108060i at 17Mbps. You really do not want interlaced video. The Sony has an f1.8 lens at the wide end compared to the f2.8 of the Panasonic. The Sony video quality is unusually crisp, and looks very good.

And,

The Sony has a 10X zoom; the Panasonic only 5X.

Finally, I suspect that the stabilization of the Panasonic is digital; that for the Sony is (mostly) optical. Digital stabilization alone degrades the video quality.

i have the sony gw77, and i love it. my wife use the gw77 to take video instead of my heavy and bulky sony hdr550.

i will buy the new sony gwp88 if it cames available
