Anyone here went from a Harmony One to a Touch? I'm stuck with a Touch after RMA

I had to send my Harmony One for RMA as the battery swelled up and I couldn't get the battery out. I ended up receiving the Touch as a replacement. I'm not sure I like the idea of having to use a touch screen for some of the control and the physical buttons are oddly placed.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has made the switch and is happy with it. I'm not really sure what my alternatives are at this point but I really am hesitant to open the box

Sell it and buy another One.

I would if I could...

1) I'm not about to buy a used one from Ebay since it'll likely have a battery that is already bulging

2) Logitech no longer sells the remote so the only way to get it new would be to pay an extra $100 or so from a vendor

I went from a 900 to a Touch (and had earlier gone from a One to a 900 due to a swollen battery). The Touch currently has some design flaws relative to the One--for example, lack of a dedicated chapter advance and reverse button, too easy to hit some of the touch buttons by accident. However, the Ultimate fixes some of these flaws, and a forthcoming firmware update will also fix them for the Touch (in the case of chapter advance and.reverse, by allowing the fast advance and reverse buttons to generate these effects through a long button press). Logitech also announced that it would in August release a hub, which will add RF capability and the ability to use a smartphone as an alternative remote. I think I currently still prefer the 900, but the Touch is growing on me, and my girlfriend likes it because it's smaller. The touch screen programmability seems a bit better and easier to use.

Hmm ok. Thanks for that feedback. Is it possible to have the screen turn on when the remote is picked up. I read of complaints of having to hit the screen once to turn it on and then use the screen gestures.

I have a spare but as mentioned the original swelled up and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the battery out. I was also afraid of damaging it

Unfortunately, the feature of having the screen turn on when the remote is picked up is apparently only available on the Ultimate. Somewhere in the thread in this forum on the Ultimate are a few other differences between the Touch and Ultimate.
