Well, I have looked at them but I am not sure which ones are quality stands which is what I am asking for help on.

The hard part is being able to find one that tall tha can handle that much weight. Most stands for bookshelf speakers are around 24".

I see, is that what the majority uses is 24 inch speaker stands?

Hi Mango,

And welcome to the AVS Forums. smile.gif

I use and would recommend the Sanus SF (steel) stands as well. I use the 26" ones, as that is what puts my speakers' tweeters at ear level. They are very sturdy, and heavy. I filled mine with (very dry) play sand, and the extra weight makes them even more stable. The use of 'sticky-tack' is also recommended, and shouldn't damage the finish on your speakers.

Hope it helps,
Joseph

Hi and thanks, I will check it out but one more question if you guys don't mind me asking, I have two front speakers that are a little taller than my rear speakers, is it okay to use the same speaker stands for those as well or would I need a different one to match the height of my rear speakers or it doesn't really matter?

For your front speakers, you want the tweeters at ear level. For the surounds, I've heard anywhere from ear level, to 2-3 feet above ear level.

VTI has a few 36" stands. I've put ~45lb speakers on the DF36 model and it was fine. (I did add kitty litter to the post.) I've never tried their others in that size, but I think they have a couple styles. (I also use their BLE101 adjustable stand for my surrounds, but it's IMO not suitable for a 20+ lb speaker.)

If you want wood rather than metal, I think Wood Technology also makes a couple in that size. I've only used their "furniture grade hardwood" center-channel stand, but it was fine for the price. ("Furniture grade" does not mean "compare to your Herman Miller couch," of course.)

Fit and finish isn't superior, but better than one finds in the similarly-priced English-made stands (Target, Apollo, etc.). Can't compare to Sanus, Bell'O, etc, because I've not really used their stands.

I'm using a 30" tall Sanus Steel Series stand, and it is bombproof - very sturdy !

AV Science sells them BTW.

So far so good, thank you all for the big help but if I could ask for recommendation should I go with the 30 inch or 34 inch stands? This will be in the living room by the way and I wonder if 34 will look a little better than 30 inch? Any opinions on that?

Well, I believe that you want the speakers tweeter about ear height, so you might need to measure your speakers and seating. I went with 30" myself.

FYI - I also used " Earthquake Putty " to attach my bookshelf speakers to the stands ( since my speakers do not have an attachment point on the bottom ). It works great ! smile.gif

I have Sanus NF36C (36" tall) for my rears. They look pretty good, though.
