The only Acoustically Transparent screens that come with a gain higher than 1.0 (Unity) gain are the PERFORATED type screens such as those from Stewart Filmscreen and others!
These type of screens can be had with gains upwards of 2.0 and maybe higher and they have round holes for the transmission of sound. Stewart perfs their various screen material types to order, they are of very high quality and they can be quite costly!
The other type of acoustically transparent screens are the WEAVE type screens and these are as the name implies weaved and the sound passes through the little voids between the threads as opposed to the sound passing through the round holes of the vinyl perfed screens. The actual tested gain of the weave screens tops out at 1.0 or a bit less contrary to claims of 1.2 gain on some and some of the higher end finer weave type screens can also be quite costly!
There are some that prefer Perf screens and some that are proponents of the Weave type screens for various reasons but I won't be getting into that debate here!
Hope this helps!
