My music and videos collection is currently scattered across several external hard disks.
I am planning to centralize it on a NAS.
My expectation is that these central media files should be accessible from Windows/Mac laptops, Smartphones, Home Theater system, Wireless speakers and maybe Smart TVs.
My question is: what features should I look for in the NAS that would allow media streaming to these devices?
If the NAS is DLNA certified, is that enough? Are there any other technologies that allow media to be streamed from a NAS to another device? Note that I am not very keen on being tied to the apple ecosystem (iTunes etc).

Thanks in advance.
