Hello all,
I need a little help with searching for another subwoofer, but this time for the 2 channel system in my dining room.
Its only a music system, there will be no movies involved
Options:
SuBsonic XS2 MK2
Sunfire SDS 10
SVS SB12 NSD (i already own the pb12 nsd and its a beast but not so good for music)
SVS SB1000
SVS PB1000 (bit of depth)

The set up is as follows
Electrocompaniet ECI 3 Amplifier
B&W DM602 Floorstanding speakers
Arcam cd player

Looking to spend around $800-$900

Im tossing up between that and the SuBsonic XS2 MK2.
The XS2 is quite a musical subwoofer but the advantage the SVS would have over that is>
1: the SVS is Sealed therefore tigher
2: The SVS is higher Powered so more control
3: higher throw driver
4: 12" driver so possibly deeper bass output

The SuBsonics advantages:
Ported- Extends deeper
Australian Brand (i like supporting our companies)
Very Musical. Tigher than most sealed subs ive heard for E.G the M&K v-75, MX 200 (i used to own the M&K MX200)

According to the specs, the XS2 extends to 25Hz @ -3dB. The SB12-NSD extends to 23Hz @ -3dB, will roll off more slowly and should benefit more from room gain than the XS2.

The XS2 has no performance advantage over the SB12-NSD.

Ok im pretty sure my mind is made up on the SVS.
But I own the PB12 NSD and that extends to 18hz whereas My father owns the XS1 MK2 and that sounds somewhat better and cleaner.
The SuBsonic cant get as low (nearly not noticeable) but is VERY Musical
So between the XS2 and SVS SB12 NSD i am nearly tempted on going the XS2
But Seeing as the SVS is Sealed (and really? only 2 hz difference) Im more leaning in that direction.
I can get the XS2 for $735 and the SVS for $749
There was also one other Option Being the Sunfire SDS 12 but people seem to complain about that too much, ive heard the SDS10 and it didnt really excite me on the bass side. The woofers move but theres bugger all sound
