It wouldn't be a bad idea to have one "near" locations like that, but as practically no one has wired for Ethernet to the fridge/washer/dryer, I'd be surprised if we ever saw Ethernet jacks on any of those appliance. They'd have to build in WiFi if they had any hope of selling more than two...
I think more likely we'll see appliance talk via powerline or RF for energy management systems, as that can be an actually useful integration - the web-browser-in-the-fridge-door is a novelty. And the small amount of "traffic" these things would generate would be better-suited to the ZWave/zigbee stuff anyway (with less hassle than WiFi setup, too).
But category wire is so cheap, no one here would laugh at you for running a line to the fridge and washer/dryer "in case".
