Actually, I like DBS quite a bit.

Sharknado looks very much like something to be enjoyed on a Friday night with a considerable amount adult refreshments.wink.gif

You might want to try one reviewer's suggestion of turning Sharknado into a drinking game, then: take a drink every time you notice a continuity error. wink.gif

I think you would be passed out by the time the movie was half over.

The reviewer who came up with the idea issued a similar warning that only those with high alcohol tolerance should attempt the game. biggrin.gif

I'm in. My last check up, the doctor warned me that the blood levels in my alcohol stream were getting dangerously high.

Like to read Ralph Potts review of this one..eek.gif Just finished watching this and I agree, its so bad its funny. Is it too early for Emmy nominations? Craftsman should have sponsored this movie, with all the power tools and the saw so powerful that it cuts thru a Great Whites belly.

I hated that I missed this and I forgot about it tonight, but I did catch the last jam packed 45 minutes, what a classic and what a heart warming ending. LOL

Alcohol poisoning is dangerous. This game cannot be recommended.

Caught the whole move last night and it was fun.

Missed it by an hour (I think) and there wasn't any replays afterwards. So weird. Usually with hit shows or original series they get replayed during the night. Edit: For that matter, replayed during the week.

No worries, not bummed biggrin.gif

Watched tonite for the 1st time and had more fun with this movie than any other this year....even the wife loved it.eek.gif

It's one of those movies that DOESN'T require Mystery Science Theater to be great...no external commentary is needed.
It is...for lack of better words: damn near PERFECT.

We couldn't stop laughing.....it's really that good.cool.gif
It is highly appropriate for those times where you want to throw in the towel and give up on Hollywood.

My recommendation: grab several bottles of adult beverages and just let Sharknado work its magic...and the world will become a better place.wink.gif

And, yes, our prayers will be answered:

LOL, oink.

Hmm adult beverages, aye? I want some beer! Tonight is Friday, beer and pizza biggrin.gif

I need to see this movie, darnit. Shame they do not replay it 24/7. (also shame on me for not remembering to DVR it last night.)

According to SyFy Channel's website, it will be repeated Aug. 22.

I usually wince when it is an Asylum film because they've produced a lot of dogs and brag about writing scripts in two days in their commentaries. This was directed by Anthony Ferrante who is from Martinez (according to his commentary on his film "Boo"). It was better than the usual Asylum gunk.

More in the series in various stages of development:

Apecano
Tarantulavalanche
Hurricanine
Shih Tzunami
Blizzardvaark
Penguinferno
Godzillacane
Carmen Elektracalstorm
Kittycane (a purrrrfect storm)
Ben Huricane (hurricane full of Charlton Hestons)
Trumpphoon (aka "Blow Hard")
Terminatornado (Arnie's next big budget release)

What about the movie "Atlantic Rim" that Asylum released recently to coincide with the theatrical release of "Pacific Rim"? Is that one anywhere near as funny as Sharknado?
Most Asylum films are just terrible, rather than terribly funny. Sharknado is not indicative of their films' usual "quality".

I also watched some of "Blast Vegas" which has John Landis and Joe Dante doing a cameo at the beginning with tongue-in-cheek movie production jokes.

That was fun, but the rest of the movie was pseudo-teen idiocy.

Just saw a promo for all day shark day next Saturday on Syfy, with Sharknado being shown at 9:00pm. My guide still says Sinbad and Primeval then.

Considering all the net buzz it's not surprising if they start showing it more.

Sharknado 2 Is Coming — to New York City!
Quote:
As if New York City didn’t have it bad enough, what with the mangy costumed characters milking tourists for tips in Times Square, now a Sharknado is looming.

Syfy on Wednesday gave a green light to a sequel to last week’s super-buzzy, well-rated shlockfest, which starred Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills, 90210) and Tara Reid (American Pie) — and this time, the fishy catastrophe will target the Big Apple.

Watched it last night with the family on our "cheesy movie night".
Wow- I guess The Asylum can't afford a continuity person? You see a shot of the ocean- it's completely calm- then it's 60' waves- then they show another view- it's 1" waves again. The same with the flooded streets- enough water on the roads for sharks to swim in- then they show the actor- and the street is dry under his feet!
Loved it... a new low by The Asylum!
