This might be a silly question but I am looking to upgrade my sub in my 5.1 system. I have never done a DIY build so I wanted to start off pretty basic. For the money am I better off with an SVS SD12 ($650) or a kit from PE - Dayton Ultimax 15" in a 3 cube box ($260) http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-7097 and an SA1000 amp ($360). I just wanted get some opinions as the price would be identical.

Thanks

The 1000 watt ultimax setup will greatly exceed the capability of the svs.

DIY usually wins

It's the SB12, and the Dayton will absolutely destroy it.
