At least none of the Hansens made the cut.

Here is a link for the EW interview with Probst. It looks like they are throwing a lot of twists into this season. It could be a train wreck but maybe it will be entertaining.

New 'Survivor' castaways revealed: Alums and loved ones
by Lorena Blas, USA TODAY
August 21, 2013

''Survivor'' Season 2 winner Tina Wesson, right, and Katie Collins, will be among the castaways competing on ''Survivor: Blood vs. Water.'' (Credit: Monty Brinton , CBS)

CBS reality TV competition show Survivor lives up to its name and returns for Season 27 on Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The new season will bring back some past Survivors. Tina Wesson, Season 2 (Survivor: The Australian Outback), will join the competition along with Gervase Peterson, who competed in Season 1 (Survivor: Borneo) against Richard Hatch, the winner.

The 90-minute premiere will kick off this cycle themed "Blood vs. Water." The game will feature players competing with loved ones as individuals try to "outwit, outplay, outlast and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor," according to a CBS statement. The relationships might be romantic or might be familial. Siblings, parents, children, spouses and partners will be confronted with challenges and eliminations.

Wesson will be competing with her daughter, Katie Collins, and Peterson with his niece, Marissa Peterson.

The season will mark the return of Redemption Island, where castaways who have been cut can "seek redemption" to return for a chance for the show's $1 million prize. But there will be a twist: Loved ones will be forced to choose whether to switch places with their partners on Redemption Island, either allowing them to re-enter the game or leaving them in exile to survive on their own.

Other contestants: Survivor: Samoa contestant Laura Morett and daughter Ciera Eastin; Survivor: One World's Kat Edorsson and boyfriend Hayden Moss; Survivor: One World's Colton Cumbie and fiance Caleb Bankston;Survivor: One World's Monica Culpepper and husband Brad Culpepper; Survivor: Cook Islands contestant Candice Cody and husband John Cody; Survivor All Stars (as well two other seasons) fan favorite Rupert Boneham and wife Laura Boneham; Survivor: Panama -- Exile Island winnder Aras Baskauskas and brother Vytas Baskauskas;and Survivor:Tocantins contestant Tyson Apostol and girlfriend Rachel Foulger.

I watched again season 13. I was afraid that - now that I am not young and naive and gullible - I wouldn't enjoy it.

But I did! It was so much fun, and easygoing and relaxing and refreshing. It really reminded me why I love survivor. I wish they do seasons like that again..........

Seems to be a bit of desperation with all of these twists - maybe final season?

That was probably my favorite season, too!

If you get TVGN on Wed, Sep 4th they will begin showing the Preview .. I don't get TVGN in HD, but the show itself is always fairly interesting and a good intro into the next season .. I believe it will be hosted by Parvati which is a bit of an added bonus .. wink.gif

I am now watching Borneo.

It's different. For example, the strangest thing happened at the reward with home videos. Nobody was crying!!! Well except Jenna, understandably, but no one else! They were laughing!!
I don't get it! Why didn't everybody burst into tears?!

Thanks for the tip. Even in SD Parvati is pretty easy on the eyes.

But not very good as a TV show host.

I watched the TVG preview last night.

Some interesting changes for this year. I don't know if the changes will be good or not.

I had really hoped Redemption Island was gone for good ..

Colton talks like he wants to act like a grown up this season, yet his attitude is still showing thru ..

Parv looked good and smiled a lot .. yet as a host, she lived up to her name "shallow" ..

All in all, not a bad preview and a good set up for the season ..

I just saw that "Lost" was inspired from "Survivor", among other things ("Lord of the flies" etc). Does that make Hurley the winner (last survivor)?!
What do you say, waiting for the premiere, we match up "Lost" characters with our favorite survivor players?

Ok I will start:
Phillip Sheppard is Jack Shephard, giving his life to save his people! biggrin.gif
Even their names match!!

Well they managed to take out the biggest draw (for us) - Rupert. We really like him and now he is pushed to Redemption Island instead. Plus, no realy attractive women this season so a loss of eye candy (except for the stunning visual of the island itself).

Colton has not changed, as much as he wants to say it, you can see he is still the same person. Proof is in the rowing part.

If you know you are going on a show that requires swimming, why would you not take lessons/practicce, something. He sure gave up fast and needed help after just a few minutes in the water.

Not much special other than the "family from home" feeling is now throughout the season instead of just one episode. Kinda boring.

I am looking forward to seeing Gervasse's face when he realizes that he's the reason what's-her-name is gone.

I'm really surprised that Mr. "I'd let my wife win" isn't out. Very smart of him to make that alliance right away. Too bad he doesn't need the money. And how bout that counting shot? A few too many concussions?

I rather enjoyed the twist last night, but also hated to see Rupert put himself in jeopardy so early. Those of us who live in Indianapolis know what a humanitarian and all-around good guy he is. As a gubernatorial candidate, however, not so much. smile.gif

As for Colton, the bleeped out part when they were rowing just proved that a leopard never changes his spots. He can't go soon enough for me.

The counting shot was typical Culpepper...hes a very fun person, always joking around. (BTW, he was a football player, but is now a lawyer. So yes, he knows how to count)

All in all an OK first show. I think the family members are going to make for some very interesting strategy this season.

And once again...you know you are going to be on Survivor...get some wood and sit in your backyard and learn to make fire!!! Season after season we see the same thing....

how do they not vote out colton at the opening vote?? they all know what a jerk and camp cancer he is. ugh.

i think this season's show could be subtitled "trail of tears"

No eye candy? I suppose we all have our own opinions but Candice is smokin' hot. She's also at risk on Redemption Island.

What is the location? I missed the very beginning, maybe it was stated early on.

I was hoping a twist would be to evict two people from the immunity winning Tribe right off the bat... Colton & Gervase . . . two utterly useless Tribe members rolleyes.gif

I caught the beginning and was waiting for the obligatory "where they are." I didn't hear them say, and I think I was paying attention

Yea, how about Kat too? A little too skinny for my tastes, but beautiful face.

It seems Survivor has taken up permanent residence in the Philippines .. this has got to be about 3 or 4 seasons there now so I'm thinking there must be some financial incentive ..

Although it is a beautiful country ..

Returning players, same location .. they need to shake it up .. and Redemption is not the way to do it, IMO ..
