iPad Problem

Thread Starter
When I go to a thread which I'm subscribed to the iPad goes back to the last entry that it had seen. This could be from two weeks prior necessitating a substantial amount of scrolling to get to the post that I have been notified about. When using my Android tablet or my Windows laptop the the computer takes me directly to the post received in the email notification. Is there a setting someplace in the iPad that I need to change to fix this?

Some clarification is needed here...

This when clicking a link in an email? Which link are you clicking? Are both devices using the mobile skin or desktop?

When I receive an email that says there is a new post to a thread I am subscribed to I click on the link and the avs forum thread is brought up in another Safari tab. I'm accessing my Gmail via Safari, not an iPad Gmail app. The problem is that the thread comes up on what was the last post I accessed with the iPad, I'm assuming, rather than on the post that keyed the email. This does not happen on my Android tablet or my Windows laptop.

They'll need all the details & steps taken to try and reproduce.
In the email there's a see thread button & a see this post button. Which are you clicking?
Are you clicking the same button each time?
Is the iPad showing the site in desktop skin or mobile skin?
What skin is the Android tablet showing?

I don't know what a desktop skin vs a mobile skin is. My wife and I are old so we aren't up on the new phone technologies. I just checked an email that came in the last half hour. On my laptop and on my tablet I almost always click on the thread title which comes up first in the message. It's in xtra large type and underlined.

I just brought up both iPad and tablet. An email titled BenQ W1070: DLP Full HD, 3D Ready with lens shift for 1000$ was in the Inbox, received at 7:18 PM PST. I touched on the title on the iPad and #5871, 20 hours ago appeared. I touched on the title on the Android tablet and the same post appeared but for only a second. Then it was replaced by #5680, 2 hours ago. This was the next post following the last post I had read, #5679. This is the way it should work. I just did the same thing on my Windows laptop and it did the same as the tablet; momentary on post #5671 and then to post #5780.

I will try it all over again using the "See This Post" icon.

OK, this time the iPad paused at post #5671 and then went to #5680, as did the other two devices. So, it appears that the iPad acts differently then the non-apple devices when clicking on the tille of the thread. I am asking for the ease of use capability of having the iPad work like the others; clicking on the title brings up the latest unread post. Is this problem in a setting in my iPad or in your end?

Trying to understand your skin question maybe this will help. When the AVS thread comes up I cannot enlarge the type using the thumb/forefinger technique used on touchscreens. I'm suspecting that is a mobile skin. I don't care for this as the type is too small for these old eyes. I used to be able to do the enlargement but somewhere along the line the system switched me to this after I repeatedly said no to the request to convert to the AVS tablet app.

Hope this helps. I would like the Apple to work like the non-apple.

When you click on the title, it should take you to where you left off so it sounds like it's working correctly.

To switch between Mobile/Desktop, just scroll to the very bottom & toggle the buttons. biggrin.gif

It's not working correctly. It should take me to the post after the last post read by my ID, not by the computer I am currently on. I use three computers to access the web. Your program, or my settings on the iPad, should recognize this. It does it correctly on the other two computers I use, as I have said above. Please think through this and help me out.

I've asked the developers to have a look at this for you.
