i'm hoping to get some help,
as i posted under sub forum i just got a hsu vtf 3 mk4 12" sub. I'v been playing with it for last couple of day's with the test cd that came with, i played a 50 hz test tone set pioneer 1121 k to 75 db on my spl meter and adjusted sub output to 75 db which came to -0.5 db on receiver. I left the gain at 9 o clock position. I'v been in contact with hsu research via forums and email trying to get this awesome sub to work correctly in my room which is 10x18x 8ft height with three doors 1 window and two ATS acoustic 2" thick panels for the first reflection points.
Any how i decided to pop in a bluray last night "Transformers The Dark Moon" and i notice i'm not getting any slam or bass coming out of it,
i grab my spl meter and it's showing the meter moving from 80 to 84 db when there is bass, but i can't seem to hear it. I am sitting about 3 inches from the back wall in my room where i alway's sat when i had my >vtf 1 <that thing pounded great with great SPL.
My newer sub the hsu vtf 3 mk4, settings 2 ports open Q 0.5 gain 9 o clock like i mention, and sub cross over to out. I have a single rca sub cable from mono price into sub in and sub (pre out 1) on the receiver. I'm not sure if i'am setting some thing wrong or what.
Does anyone know what the break in period for hsu vtf 3 mk4?
I'd hate to take it back to hsu research and exchange it for some thing else.
Any other tips or suggestions would be awesome.
