Why a fear of/sarcasm towards Google? Do you not realize it's a useful search engine that humans use to discover relevant, factual, accounts and LEARN? Bizarre for some, I suppose.
1. Who/what is "many"? I'd guarantee you that there are a considerably LARGER number- on an ENTHUSIASTS FORUM no less, that believe precisely to the contrary. "Whimiscal"? No, just another "technology" to sell more televisions (especially to those who have bought HDTVS in the last 5-7 years or so and really don't feel compelled to "upgrade") and make the industry more money. Pretty straightforward.
2. Now you're telling me about "almost everything I see"? Beautiful. Those are some powers! Try this though: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2013/10/ultra-hd-vs-hd-tv-is-ultra-worth-the-extra-money/index.htm
Unbiased, non BS enough for ya? Now, I realize these are "only" 55-65" screens...at seven feet, but, well, sigh. Pay attention to the "at TWO feet" parts and ample areas where they are discerning nothing. Nothing.
3. Again, well, no. But thanks.
While I appreciate your enthusiasm to waltz on in and attempt to discount (or really, eliminate) an intelligent debate on this issue...even on 100" screen sizes, I'll just go ahead and continue on- with facts- nonetheless.
If such bothers you so much that you feel compelled to post strawman contentions, I'd suggest refraining from visiting the thread altogether.
AND YES, 720 is NOT discernable from 1080 on most displays, in most rooms...but 1080 is
an improvement (albeit, very slight) for LARGER screens/closer seating arrangements, of course. But then, you already knew that.
thanks in advance.
