subwoofers; are two better than one

are two subwoofers better than one? is it better to have two smaller inexpensive units than one large unit?

Two subs are better than one sub, because you can smooth out the bass response in the room better. Hard to say if two cheaper subs are better than one more expensive sub, because we could be talking about anything. In other words two $100 subs are not going to be better than one $1,000 sub. Just using money as an example.

Two of these SVS SB-1000 would be great for a medium sized listening area.

How large (cu ft) is your home theater/listening area? Also you might post your question in
the sub forum.

I don't know to much about the subs you are referring to.

Shouldn't this be in the subwoofer part of the forum and not in speakers?
