Speaker Suggestions for 16 x 14 room

I am moving and my next theater room is is a 14 x 16 room with no windows. I already have an SVS PB12-Plus/2 sub and I want to go with a 5.1 system. I used to have the Klipsch RB-75, RC/RS-7 speakers and I liked them ok but I am leaving them in the house I sold.

I have about $1500 to spend on the 5 speakers. I will be using an 80 inch Visio or Sharp display.

Since I already have the sub what are some suggestions for the speakers with my budget?

Thanks in advance.

Do you like the bright sound of the Klipsch or are you thinking something different?

As someone else mentioned, the HSU might be a choice for you:

The Hsus are not at all bright like Klipsch normally is.

Thanks for the replies. The KEF speakers are a little large for my setup. Is the only difference between the different HSU Hybrid systems the size of the room they are designed for?

I know the sub I have is oversized for my new room but does that affect the speakers I should buy and will I have any problems calibrating?

The difference of the various Hsu systems is the power of the bass. The sub shouldn't affect the speakers you buy- to an extent. You do want a sub that can keep up with your speakers. There shouldn't be any problems calibrating the sub with the speakers as long as the speakers have enough bass extension so the sub does not become localizable, which means they should reach down to 80 Hz at least.

Agreed. The HSU speakers--or any other bookshelf sized speakers--will work great with your sub smile.gif
