Hello
Cleaning up cables and such around tv area. Would like to know how to connect an older (10 years plus) Technics disk player (model SL- PD9) to a modern (2 years old) Samsung TV (model LN 46B540P8FXTC).
Back of Technics disk player very simple with one out port (red and white Audio cables?) ; need to know
WHERE to insert the cable in the back of tv
WHAT kind of cable to use.
Many many thanks to all.smile.gif

Connect the red/white (L/R) audio to the same red/white audio inputs on the TV, e.g. a game input without using the yellow video input. Any cable (or cable pair) with RCA male connectors should work fine. On your TV you can use the red/white inputs of AV IN 1 (bottom of input bank on back). You could use the audio input on the side of the TV also, AV IN 2.

Thank you Larry!

Have tried this solution prior to posting my question. I know the disk player is working but no sound yet from my Bose Cinemate. 2.

I am assuming that I have to identify the Technics Disk Player as a "source" on the TV set up in order to get sound.

IE, need to use the "source" guide in the Samsung User manual. Or is there something else that is not right here>

Thanks a million for your help.( I know just enough about electronics to be dangerous. ).

Bob
