Hello everyone.. Just wanted to say hi and ask a few questions.
I'm really new to the current projector world and am ready to replace my trusty but super old Dell 3200MP that I bought way back in 2002ish.
I tend to move my speakers, receiver and projector around from time to time to do outdoor theater for the family on the many nicer nights here in AZ and then back to the light controlled garage.
Well anyhow I have read most of this thread and a few others to gather info so I'm getting there on the language.
I think I have settled on the Optoma HD131Xe from the comparisons on this forum and the price is within the budget.
Just wondering what would be a step up from this projector as far as image quality or in general? Mostly will be used for 2D movies and we really wanted to step up our viewing experience. Yeah..any thing is a step up from that dell at this point..ahaha.
We may get into the 3D viewing but we hardly ever use that feature on the Samsung UN60F7100 60-Inch LED. We just haven't dabbled with it much.
Just some info:
I have 9 1/2 ft ceiling.
Viewing distance is 16 ft or so.
Projector is ceiling mounted about a foot from the top and 19 1/2 ft from the screen.
Image is about 120 inches wide on white fabric and a "real" screen will be ordered shortly after I figure out the size I need..so double upgraditus.
Any advice is always welcomed.
