We start the weekend off with quirky Punch Network missing from KEGS 30.1. A black screen is in its' place.

KNBX 31.2 has been a simulcast of KEEN 17.1. That appears to have changed today. Currently on 31.2 is a program different from KEEN 17.1. Some months back, when KEEN was on cable, they programmed the two channels differently. The programs on 31.2 seem to be from KEEN's usual WALK network, while those programs on KEEN 17.1 today seem to be from World Harvest. We'll watch and wait to see what is up, as this may be a permanent change..

The audio on the KGNG 47.7 SAP is from the somewhat conservative GCN radio network. It is not a part of the Luken PBJ network that occupys 47.7, but is just using some excess bandwidth of KGNG. Other SAP programming includes KINC 15.2 which is a Hispanic music net. KHMP 18.3 programs their SAP with Hispanic music. The SBN feeds of SonLife usually have a SAP in Spanish on KVPX 28.1, and KEGS 30.3.

After KTUD dropped the VAsian service on their 25.3 in January, that sub-channel number disappered and 25.4 appeared with a blank screen on some monitors.

KEEN 17.1 now World Harvest Network while KNBX 31.2 airs The Walk

While religious programming continues on KEEN 17.1, it comes from a different network as of yesterday. KEEN has moved their affiliation with the Walk Network over to their fomer simulcast on KNBX 31.2. That programming should stay much the same as it was on 17.1. World Harvbest programming on KEEN 17.1 will include some mainstream retro programming from Noon-3pm Pacific Time weekdays and some on Saturdays. Program titles include Fat Albert, Lassie, Roy Rogers, Lone Ranger, Highway To Heaven, and movies.

Elsewhere, KGHD analog channel 6 remains silent, Punch remains missing on KEGS 30.1, while Almavision on KEGS 30.2 continues with a Dish Network graphic.. Also new is the For Lease billboard on KHDF 19.2 replacing the informercials that has occupied that sub-channel for over a year. KHDF now has the For Lease signage out on three of their four channels..

Highway To Heaven fans can rejoice. That drama, favorite among many, can be viewed at 2 pm weekdays in Las Vegas on three different stations. Each station airs a different episode, so a quick view of an online guide may be in order. The ota stations are KSNV 3.2 (COZI), KEEN 17.1 (WHT), and KGNG 47.6 (MyFAMILY). Who syas there can be too much of a good thing.

Thursday morning dial twisting:
KGHD analog channel 6 is back on.
Punch on KEGS 30.1 is displaying color bars.
Almavision is back on KEGS 30.2.
Cubana on KNBX 31.1 continues with color bars.
KBLR 39.3 showing black screen.

The folks at Cranston failed to keep the power supplied to their KMCC 34.1 and 34.2 today.

The nifty color bars on KBLR 39.3 (former home of SOI programming) has been spruced up with "Telemundo" enblazened across the screen. Could this be a prelude to the time delayed Telemundo network service recenly added in Phoenix. About 8:00 am, the "Telemundo" wording was removed. It's back to the standard color bars, for now.

Color bar fans now have three channels from which to choose their viewing pleasure; KEGS 30.1, KNBX 31.1, and KBLR 39.3. I'm holding out for the traditional Indian Head Test Pattern.

There's a rumor that KEEN 17 will be adding a new sub-channel soon. And one of the Mako stations (KVPX-28, KEGS-30, KNBX-31) may be getting a new tenant soon.

Will Las Vegas be home for Fox Movies!, Sony GET-TV, or CNN Latino?

Yet again, Almavision on KEGS 30.2 is displaying a lovely Dish network graphic.

Saturday morning edit: Almavision is back, for now, on KEGS 30.2. KHDF 19.2, 19.3, and 19.4 are all gone and missing from their psip. These were all billboards "For Lease" channels.

Sunday morning edit: Almavision has reverted to a Dish graphic on KEGS 30.2. And back to Almavision programming by 9:45 am. The "For Lease" bilboards are back on KHDF 19.2, 19.3, and 19.4.

KVPX-28 is off air. The station went missing Monday, leaving Son Life (SBN) viewers one choice for that nets programming via KEGS 30.3.

Punch Network, the strange diginet that was formerly on KEGS 30.1, has had a quite public dispute with a former company exec. Some of the program suppliers were not paid by the former exec. That may be part of why the network disapperaed from Las Vegas screens. If Mako, the owner of KEGS, didn't get paid for their services, then the plug gets pulled. The current execs of Punch, now called VU, states they are in talks to restore the network to KEGS 30.1.

KLAS 8.3 gets Fox Movies!

Fox Movies! to launch on KLAS 8.3, according to the network website. This is reported to be the first non Fox O&O to grab the network. Will it launch on Memorial Day, the planned first day for the network? The answer is no. The local launch won't occur until mid-June.

Wednesday early evening: We'll blame all this on our fierce winds of today. KGNG analog 47 and KGNG 47.1 are both diplaying a DirecTV logo instead of HSN programming. The Walk on KNBX 31.2 has degraded to a grade b analog like appearaance.

Cox cable will carry Movies! on their channel 128. The webiste seems to indicate that Cox may have the network launch on Memorial Day, while the ota launch on KLAS 8.3 will not occur until mid-June. Another interesting aspect for the network is that movies do not neccesarily start on the hour. When one movie ends, another starts, giving DVR/VCR time shifters a workout to know the exact time of a program start. The network is not all movies. Expect enough E/I weekend programming to mix it up.

Hooray! I also found their schedule page (and I hope this channel will be added to zaptv). More movies is always good!

Are there going to be commercial breaks during the movies? I sure hope not.

It's from FOX. You can count on commercial breaks with lots of self-promotion.

Half of the Las Vegas over-the-air analog tv stations is having their problems this weekend. KGNG analog channel 47 is broadcasting, but without any network programming. Only the HSN telephone number is on the screen. The other half of the Vegas analog stations, KGHD channel 6 continues to plug along with Hispanic music and un-associated video.

KVPX 28.1 is operating in stealth mode, without power tonight.

KEEN 17.1 has been using a visual promotion for over a week that Las Vegas viewers now have twice the number of religious channels from which to choose, now that they are programming KNBX 31.2 with The Walk and KEEN 17.1 with the World Harvest Televison. They must be using the new math to arrive at the double number. I count a total of 16 religious channels or sub-channels in Las Vegas, if we could only find them all operating at the same time. Those 16 religious channels may be the responce to why this is called Sin City.

Conservative talker GCN (Genesis Communications Network) has been missing from the KGNG 47.7 SAP lately.

Do you have AlmaVision back? After a long absence, Mako has returned it to the air in Phoenix.

Almavsion never stays away too long. It's been back for several days after the last showing of a Dish graphic.

Titan has added listing for Movies! channel KLAS 8.3. Anyone watching on Cox channel 128? Mid June is still that approximate time the 8.3 sub-channel will go live, according to KLAS people.

Breaking news: Son Life (SBN) on KEGS 30.3 has been pulled and replaced by colorbars, leaving KVPX 28.1 the sole oputlet in Las Vegas for that network.

Entravision is the owner of KINC-15 and KELV-27 locally. In their other markets, Entravision has added Zuus Latino, a Hispanic music network, to one of their sub-channels. Thus far, Entravision id the only media owner to air this network. When Sony launches Get TV later this year it will be carried on many Univision O&O's. Also in that mix will be several Entravision stations. Get TV is a new English language movie channel set to compete with Movies! and THIS. It would seem logical that Entravision will add both Zuus Latino and Get TV to their excess bandwidth in Las Vegas. Zuus could fit onto 15.3 while Get TV would find plenty of bandwidth on 27.2.

I hadn't heard anything about Entravision carrying getTV. Where did you hear that? I'd love to confirm.

Trip, either you or I are having a senior moment. I learned that Entravision was going to host Get TV from your Rabbitears.info network list.

OK, technically Entravision is not the owners of the stations they have listed to host Get TV. They are the "Operators via JSA" acting for the actual owners. Is that like a LMA?

JSA is Joint Sales Agreement, and yes, it's a lot like an LMA. Entravision operates a number of Univision-owned stations, which are the stations that will be getting getTV.

KVPX-28 is off/silent/blank today, with no SBN programming provided. KVPX is a Mako station, which also owns KEGS-30 and KNBX-31. Of the 8 Mako sub-channels, one is blank, three are color bars, and two offer the same HOT (History of Televsion) feed. Although KEGS 30.3 airs SBN audio under the colorbars, along with the Spanish SAP. For those keeping track, Almavision reverted to a Dish network graphic early morning, then returned to normal programming by 7 am. The Walk on KNBX 31.2 seems to be a reliable feed for Mako. Reliable and Mako don't seem to belong in the same sentence, judging from past and current issues.

Google New York Times Bounce TV . How are things going at work ? Cox is still losing over 1000 subscribers per month. Century link in february announced they now reach 11 percent of the market.

yeah, from another Vegas person thinking about D* v. Cox Cable. lJNb
post #8940 of 9174
The only ones in Las Vegas liking the Cox vs. Prism shoot out are the local stations. They must be raking in the dough with the constant barrage of commercials from each side. Almost like the political campaign ads still bouncing around in my head. It's also reminicent of the old MCI vs. Sprint war of a few years ago. We all know how that ended.

Elsewhere, The Country Network, KVCW 33.3, is now display the "Zuss Country" logo.
