I'm looking also into the sc-75 and the rx-a2030. Still can't decide which one. Online the price of the 75 is good, but you lose the warranty. Is the Safe Guard warranty through amazon any good? I do feel the 2030 might be a little more user friendly. Any help would be appreciated.http://files.avsforum.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
Before you give up on getting an SC-75 at a good price with warranty, try the following:
Call Abt Electronics in Chicago. http://www.abt.com/product/70591/Pioneer-SC75.html They made me a good deal on an SC-77 (well below advertised retail) and shipped for free. They are an authorized dealer and won't take orders for the Elite products on the internet.
If you have a Best Buy Magnolia store in your area, they sometimes will price match those Amazon prices, although it is not strictly their policy to do so since it they are sold by a a 3rd party rather than Amazon itself. I was able to get them to price match the Amazon price on an SC-67, but I ended up returning/canceling it when I went to pick it up as I found out that the Elite SC-7Xs were on the way.
Use the Pioneer "Where to Buy" Find a Retail Store. Select "Receiver-Elite" for Select Product Category, but leave "Select a Model" in the bottom window (do not select SC-75). Check with the dealers listed. I found a couple in my area that were willing to sell below advertised retail, however I was able to get a better deal with Abt.
