It seems that the only improvements are the FI available in 2D and 3D and the MHL support for androïd and Ios devices connexion. Talking with Epson yesterday, they told that the DI have also been improve.

Display manufacturers (and pretty much any other manufacturer in a "for profit" scenario) only release evolutionary products in response to market pressure or slumping sales (assuming they have the technology "in the vault", which they do), and, per reports from multiple projector reviewers, there's no pressure from anything in its price bracket and apparently sales are OK as well. Epson's always been content to let someone else innovate and then they come behind and sneak up to the top over the course of a decade. I'm really hoping to see JVC improve their 3D to a top notch level and 4K to hit below $10K (so next year we might get one around $5K).

I find it ridiculous that projector manufacturers have not released a moderately priced projector capable of 1920x1080P@120Hz stereoscopic gaming.

Many stereoscopic gamers choose monitors over projectors simply because of the 1280x720@120Hz limitation of PJs.

Lots of gamers buy 120Hz stereoscopic lightboost monitors exclusively for 2D gaming as well.

So are projector manufacturers that "stupid"?

Why haven't they taped into the high refresh gaming market at 1080P?

No they are not stupid.
Projector target market is film buffs, not gamers.

If gaming on a projector was a big market draw (money making opportunity), you can be sure they would be falling all over themselves to produce a product to fit that market.
Money talks
Since they are not, it is obvious that people playing games on projectors is a tiny market not worth pursuing.
They can't make money selling expensive projectors to teenagers without money or adults who have not grown up yet (and thus probably do not make much money).

That is because only DLP is fast enough for 60Hz 3D. LCD and LCOD can barely handly 24p 3D using some tricks but 60Hz requires the panels to refresh much faster, so you would not have much benefit of 120Hz capable inputs.

The above 2 comments show how many idiots still frequent these forums

Just quietly saying that it is the same requirement for HFR 3D. I've read somewhere that Avatar 2 could be 60 fps HFR, not just 48 fps. As for gaming, I find it sad when one doesn't game, I even have gamer friends with PhDs.

I have a gamer friend with not only a PHD, but big boobs, and a tiny waist and fanny. She is a gamer.
