Indeed. In our separate discussion I hypothesized that JVC could implement just the way Mike described, by remembering what you set in manual. However, I think this is a highly confusing implementation as if this isn't clear in the documentation, users may wonder why things are too dim, or too bright, and not understand there is a manual control. In my opinion it should not be manual, auto1, auto2 then. It should be two separate menu options
Manual Aperture -15 - 0
Dynamic Aperture Off, Auto1, Auto2
In this way, the manual offset is always available separately to the dynamic one and it makes it clear they are mutually exclusive which it doesn't right now with the single menu option. Also, if you wanted to change the manual offset currently, you would have to switch to manual, adjust, switch back to auto etc. I am not convinced we have the whole story.
