Alright, now that I'm back from work I can start explaining the plan a bit more...
We are on a budget and already own some of the equipment we are planning to use for that build, feel free to chime in and suggest other equipments or ideas. We might use them now and change our plans or eventually use them when we switch equipments.
The goal: Have a functional basement that will integrate the following:
-Neat storage for kids toys (out of sight)
-Play area for kids
-Media room area
-Connection to storage server and connection to video, audio and pictures
-Connection to gaming PC to play games (I hate consoles)
-Home automation phase 1: lights and A/V control
-1 remote for everything
-All the equipment neatly out of sight (A/V rack)
-Must have room to put my computer desk
-Want to have the A/V rack in a back room (we don't want to see any equipment except TV and speakers)
-12mm laminate flooring
What do you guys think about the idea of using laminate?
What type of ceiling tiles you guys think I should buy?
