I'm having a difficult time deciding between these receivers. There are not too many reviews on them as they're newer. I do have distributed audio throughout the house but it's not critical that I utilize this receiver for it since I can run them off my older Pioneer Elite receiver located in the bedroom...

I'll be using the following speakers on this receiver (installed 7.1):

LRC - Definitive Tech UIW RLS II
Rear in ceiling - Speaker-craft (Proficient C870)
Sub - Rythmik F15HP

My vote would be to the Denon X-4000 as it offers the superior Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 room correction as well as SubEQ for your Rythmik subwoofer. The front/ rear in ceiling are all 8 ohm so nothing crucial with using that with any of your choices.

The X-4000. JohnAV nailed the reason.

My past three receivers have been Pioneer Elite. In fact since I'm considering purchasing the X4000, this would be my first time departing that brand. Excluding the Audysee room calibration, are there any features the SC-71 and RX-A1030 have over the X4000 that I should consider?

Also, other than Ebay, is there a dealer you can recommend that will sell below MAP?

http://avscience.com/ will give you the best price if you call them by phone

Go for the X4000. For your sub it has Audyssey Sub EQ HT, and for your overall system it has Audyssey XT32, which many say is a very big upgrade over XT, and arguably one of the best new receiver features in the past 10 years.

I have the X4000 and I bought it through AV Science. Give them a call and you'll get a great price. Also, they are an authorized dealer (unlike many on FleaBay).

Plus it's nice to help support the forum. smile.gif

EDIT: Oops just noticed this thread is a few months old DOH biggrin.gif So, what did you wind up buying?
